• JOB DUTIES:

• Analyze, develop, and maintain complex logical data designs in support of corporate and customer information system requirements.

• Through proper data design and governance, maintain and monitor use of standards and procedures and integration of systems.

• Contributes to enterprise architecture as representative of data design and governance.

• Define and deliver data solutions and contribute to development and implementation of IT plans in line with overall strategy of IT and business.

• Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction on data management and enterprise information management and lead and coach junior Data Engineers.

• Define, develop, and deliver consistent information and data standards, methodologies, guidelines, best practice and approved modeling techniques on data/information management, data quality and data governance.

• Design enterprise data architecture, including conceptual architectures for solution strategies, for data stores supporting transactional processing, data warehouses, operational data stores, data marts, and analytics.

• Provide assistance and guidance to the development team regarding data model, SQL and stored procedure, including code review of complex SQL and Stored procedure and performance tuning as needed by development teams, and develop data model as required by project team.

• Collect, maintain, and publish corporate metadata (system of record, sources, retention etc.) related to modeling in an enterprise asset repository.

• Provide information and assistance relative to use and understanding of data models and data architecture.

• Simplify existing data architecture and data architecture SDLC process, delivering reusable services and cost-saving opportunities in line with policies and standards of group.

• Utilize skills with appropriate tools and business requirements to model entity relationships, multi-dimensionality, subject areas, state transitions, data flows and integrations, and reference data.

• Lead design, development, implementation and maintenance of complex data systems and solutions and ensure technology solutions are in alignment with data architecture principles and target state.

• Create and maintain accurate, complete and consistent governed conceptual, logical and physical data models with lineage and implementation traceability metadata.

• Responsible for source to target mapping where business rules are clearing documented and defined.

• REQUIREMENTS:

  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field of study and 7 years of progressive experience in Data Engineering. Employer will accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field of study and 3 years of experience in Data Engineering in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 7 years of progressive experience.

   

  Applicants must have demonstrated experience with: 
   
  1) DLM and Enterprise Platforms for managing data movement. 
  2) insurance industry (including claims processes, how attribution works, and the business concepts of insurance). 
  3) Scrum and Agile development practices. 
  4) data governance and information management. 
  5) database technologies including SQL, Snowflake and Data Lake design. 
  6) ETL, Power BI, Alteryx, Crystal Reports, and Business Objects.
  7) analyzing, organizing, and preparing data for use through the development of proprietary systems.
  8) designing multi-dimensional data models using Kimball Methodology.
