Fitness Trainer (Level 3 Qualified PT)
Flexible employed contracts, typically 6, 12 or 18 hours a week | Plus your own Personal Training business
Being a Fitness Trainer at The Gym Group has two parts.
You'll work for us as an employed Fitness Trainer, typically on a 6, 12 or 18-hour contract, giving you guaranteed employed hours and pay each month.
You'll also run your own self-employed Personal Training business from the same gym, building a client base and creating an income that's yours.
During your contracted hours, you'll be part of the team that makes the gym a great place to train.
You'll run inductions, deliver classes and spend time out on the gym floor helping members - getting to know the people who use your gym and helping them get more from their membership.
You'll be paid £12.75 per hour, equivalent to a full-time annual salary of £26,509.50. Your actual annual salary will depend on your contracted hours.
You'll get:
✔ Guaranteed employed hours and pay
✔ Flexible contracts, typically 6, 12 or 18 hours a week
✔ Holiday pay and sick pay
✔ Free gym membership for you plus a friend or family member
✔ Pension scheme and share options
✔ Employee Assistance Programme
✔ 24/7 GP access and dental support through Tooth Fairy
✔ Funded First Aid qualification
✔ Retail discounts
✔ An induction and ongoing development as part of your employed role
The other part of the opportunity is building and running your own Personal Training business from the gym under a Personal Trainer Rental Agreement (PTRA).
Your clients. Your sessions. Your prices. Your business.
You decide who you train, when you train them, how long your sessions run and what you charge.
And you keep 100% of your PT earnings. We don't take commission or a cut from your sessions.
You pay a monthly rent for access to the gym, equipment and our member base - and your first month is free.
We'll give you access to resources, online learning, advice and guidance to support you as you build your business, as well as opportunities to promote your PT services to members through in-gym advertising.
We'll be straight with you about what that means.
We provide the gym, access to members, resources and support. Building your client base and growing your PT business is down to you.
That's an important part of this role - and for the right person, one of the most exciting parts of it.
✔ You hold a Level 3 Personal Training qualification, or you're Level 2 Gym Instructor qualified with your Level 3 nearly complete
✔ You enjoy being out on the gym floor, talking to people and building relationships
✔ You're passionate about helping people feel comfortable, confident and motivated in the gym
✔ You can run a class and an induction, or you're ready to learn
✔ You're excited by the idea of building a client base and growing a PT business of your own
