Maybe you're the person who's always dragging friends to a show nobody's heard of yet. You know which rooftop, bookstore, or living room would make an unforgettable venue, and you know the artists your city should be hearing next. If you've ever wanted to put that energy into something bigger, this is your chance to make Sofar a cornerstone of your local scene.
We're looking for producers who are excited to grow a Sofar community: the audiences, artists, hosts, and partners that make our shows feel like nowhere else. You bring the local vision and the drive to fill rooms. We bring a global brand, a proven format, and a team that handles the operational heavy lifting behind the scenes: payments, taxes, insurance, royalties, guest communications, artist and venue advances, and ticketing. That means you spend your time where it matters most, which is building community and getting people in the door.
Sofar Sounds is a global live events brand that transforms everyday spaces like living rooms, rooftops, boutiques, and museums into intimate venues for music and arts experiences. Born in a London flat in 2009, Sofar began as an answer to a growing problem: live music had lost its magic. It has since grown into a global movement that keeps music at its heart while expanding into comedy, singles, dance, and more. We've hosted 60,000+ shows across 540+ cities for 3.2M+ attendees, all connected by Sofar's track record for discovering rising talent.
Artists like Billie Eilish, Brent Faiyaz, Jack Harlow, Chappell Roan, Leon Bridges, Tank and the Bangas, Olivia Dean, YEBBA, Teddy Swims, Remi Wolf, Hozier, and Lola Young played Sofar shows early in their careers. More than just a gig, Sofar gives artists a professional platform across the physical and digital worlds, plus access to brand partnerships, a powerful content engine, and global media placements.
We're deeply passionate about this work. When we're not working, you can probably find us at a live show or telling anyone in earshot about the new song we can't stop listening to.
🎫 End-to-End Platform: Ticketing, guest comms, artist booking, advancing, payments, and post-show surveys, all in one place, so your energy goes into the shows rather than the spreadsheets.
📣 Lifecycle Marketing Support: Once someone buys a ticket, we work to bring them back. Sofar provides lifecycle email and SMS campaigns and a dedicated Lifecycle Marketing Manager to turn first-time guests into regulars. Growing your city's audience is yours to own.
🤝 Global Brand Power: Sofar's reputation opens doors to better venues, higher-quality artists, press opportunities, and brand partnerships (Sony, Visa, Delta, and more).
🛡 Reduced Risk: We carry event insurance, manage compliance, handle royalties and sales tax, and absorb much of the operational risk.
🎨 Creative Ownership with Real Support: You shape your city's shows, themes, and growth strategy, backed by the central Global Communities team, shared best practices, data, and tools.
🌍 Global Artist Network: A constant pipeline of 50,000+ artists actively seeking Sofar stages, plus a worldwide community of producers sharing what's working in real time.
💰 Dependable Payouts: Your commission lands via direct deposit, fully reconciled. No chasing invoices.
As a Freelance Event Producer + Promoter, you'll curate, produce, and promote Sofar concerts and live events that build a strong, vibrant Sofar community in your city. You'll be a true Sofar ambassador: setting your city's strategy, leading artist and venue curation, driving ticket sales, selling local sponsorships and private shows, and expanding Sofar's footprint in your market.
All events in this role are produced under the Sofar brand. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to invest in growing Sofar locally over the long term, not a platform for running a separate events business.
This is a commission-based freelance role with a flexible schedule. Events typically take place on weekends and evenings.
