Our Objectives

Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Natural Language Processing (NLP) Machine Learning Researcher to join our cutting-edge research team. As an NLP Machine Learning Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the field of NLP through innovative research, algorithm development, and the application of machine learning techniques focused on autonomy, aircraft manufacturing, factory digitalization, etc. Your work will have a direct impact on developing state-of-the-art NLP models and systems that address real-world challenges and push the boundaries of language understanding and generation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct groundbreaking research in the field of Natural Language Processing with a focus on machine learning techniques, including but not limited to neural networks, deep learning, transformers, and other advanced models.

• · Develop novel algorithms and methodologies for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, machine translation, text generation, dialogue systems, and more

• Implement and experiment with state-of-the-art NLP models and techniques, adapting them to specific problem domains and datasets, including autonomous flight, aircraft manufacturing, factory digitalization and etc.

• Develops ML/DL models operating on our MLOps system that comply with aviation safety requirements

• Stay current with the latest advancements in NLP and machine learning by actively participating in conferences, workshops, and relevant academic publications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define research objectives, scope, and methodologies, and contribute to project planning and execution.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing NLP models using machine learning techniques, including neural networks and deep learning architectures.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).

• In-depth knowledge of NLP fundamentals, including but not limited to word embeddings, attention mechanisms, sequence-to-sequence models, and transformers.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to formulate research questions, design experiments, and interpret results.

• Experience with large-scale data processing, distributed computing, and cloud platforms is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proficient in English to effectively collaborate with an international team

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Master’s degree with at least three years of work experience or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Statistics

• Ph.D. degree with at least two years of work experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Statistics

• The ideal candidate is a self-starter and someone who works well within a team

• Good to have at least an intermediate level of knowledge in server engineering, like resource management on multi-GPUs over multiple servers

• Good to have at least an intermediate level of knowledge in aviation and commercial flight operations

• Nice to have field experience in developing and executing manufacturing projects using machine learning techniques to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce downtime, and improve quality.

• Nice to have a winning experience in machine learning or data science competition challenges

• Nice to have publication records in top-tier machine learning or computer vision conferences

Job Responsibilities:

• 자연어 처리 분야에서 기계 학습 기술, 특히 신경망, 딥러닝, 트랜스포머 및 기타 고급 모델을 포함한 혁신적인 연구를 수행합니다.

• 텍스트 분류, 감정 분석, 개체 인식, 기계 번역, 텍스트 생성, 대화 시스템 등과 같은 작업을 위한 새로운 알고리즘과 방법론을 개발합니다.

• 최첨단 NLP 모델과 기술을 구현하고 실험하며, 자율 비행, 항공기 제조, 공장 디지털화 등 특정 문제 영역과 데이터 세트에 맞게 조정합니다.

• 항공 안전 요구 사항을 준수하는 MLOps 시스템에서 작동하는 ML/DL 모델을 개발합니다.

• 회의, 워크숍 및 관련 학술 출판물에 적극 참여하여 NLP 및 머신러닝의 최신 발전 동향을 파악합니다.

• 다양한 기능 팀과 협력하여 연구 목표, 범위 및 방법론을 정의하고, 프로젝트 계획 및 실행에 기여합니다.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 공학, 컴퓨터 과학, 수학 또는 통계학 분야의 석사 학위와 최소 3년의 경력 또는 박사 학위.

• 신경망 및 딥러닝 아키텍처를 포함한 기계 학습 기술을 사용하여 NLP 모델을 설계하고 구현한 폭넒은 경험.

• Python과 같은 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 높은 숙련도 및 머신러닝 라이브러리 (TensorFlow, PyTorch 등)를 사용한 경험.

• 단어 임베딩, Attention 메커니즘, 시퀀스-투-시퀀스 모델 및 트랜스포머를 포함한 NLP 기본에 대한 깊이 있는 지식.

• 연구 계획을 수립하고 실험을 설계하며 결과를 해석할 수 있는 높은 수준의 분석 및 문제 해결 능력.

• 대규모 데이터 처리, 분산 컴퓨팅 및 클라우드 플랫폼에 대한 경험.

• 기술적 전문가나 비전문가에게도 복잡한 기술 개념을 설명할 수 있는 뛰어난 구두 및 서면 의사소통 능력.

• 글로벌 팀과 효과적으로 협력하기 위한 능숙한 영어.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 공학, 컴퓨터 과학, 수학 또는 통계학 분야의 박사 학위와 최소 2년의 경력.

• 자발적이며 팀 내에서 잘 협력하는 성향.

• 다중 서버에서 다중 GPU의 자원 관리 등을 포함한 서버 엔지니어링에 대한 중급 이상의 지식

• 항공 및 상업 비행 운영에 대한 중급 수준 이상의 지식.

• 제조 프로세스를 최적화하고 가동 중지 시간을 줄이며 품질을 개선하기 위한 머신러닝 기술을 사용한 제조 프로젝트 개발 및 실행 경험.

• 머신러닝 또는 데이터 과학 경진 대회에서의 수상 경험.

• 최고 수준의 머신러닝 또는 컴퓨터 비전 학회에서의 발표 경험.

This position will be hired on a 2-year fixed term contract with possibility to convert to an open ended contract, subject to business conditions and individual performance. 

Location:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at BKETC office and the listed location site.

Travel:

Some travel may be required, up to 10% of the time.
