In this role, you will combine quantitative rigor with modern data capabilities to monitor key risk limits, run stress tests, quantify capital requirements under ICAAP, and evaluate new products. Working closely with Treasury, Finance, and Data Engineering, you will deliver critical risk insights to senior risk committees and help maintain balance sheet resilience across a high-growth digital banking ecosystem (covering Singapore and Malaysia operations).
1. Risk Framework, Governance & New Product Reviews
Framework Maintenance: Implement, maintain, and regularly review the Bank's policies, procedures, and limit structures for Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, and Asset Liability Management (ALM) in compliance with multi-jurisdictional regulatory standards.
Risk Appetite Calibration: Collaborate with business functions and senior risk leadership to analyze, calibrate, and monitor bank-wide risk appetites, early warning indicators (EWIs), and risk-taking limits.
New Product Approvals (NPA): Conduct independent 2nd-line risk assessments for new product initiatives, treasury structures, and business programs to ensure liquidity and market risks are properly mitigated prior to launch.
2. Market Risk, IRRBB & Capital Analytics
IRRBB Modeling & Sensitivities: Provide independent oversight and monitoring of IRRBB. Maintain cashflow assumptions and track Economic Value of Equity (EVE), Net Interest Income (NII), and Earnings at Risk (EaR) sensitivities in alignment with MAS and BNM regulatory guidelines.
ICAAP Capital Support: Serve as the Second Line analytical lead for quantifying Market Risk and IRRBB capital requirements under the ICAAP framework. Apply and test internal risk-capital methodologies to maintain adequate capital buffers.
Transaction & Exposure Monitoring: Perform daily monitoring of market risk exposures, FX positions, derivatives, and yield curve sensitivities. Ensure absolute data integrity across market risk systems and processes.
3. Liquidity Risk Management & Stress Testing
Liquidity Metrics Oversight: Monitor and track regulatory and internal liquidity metrics across Singapore and Malaysia jurisdictions, including Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR), Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR), Intraday Liquidity, and survival horizons.
Liquidity Stress Testing: Run, calibrate, and enhance internal liquidity stress testing (ILST) models and scenario analyses, incorporating realistic macroeconomic shocks and behavioral deposit assumptions.
FTP & Balance Sheet Analytics: Provide independent challenge to Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) frameworks, liquidity charges, and deposit behavioral models in partnership with Treasury.
4. Reporting, Data Automation & Regulatory Oversight
ALCO & Risk Committees: Synthesize complex analytics into actionable Management Information (MI) packs and executive dashboards for the Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) and Risk Management forums.
Data Infrastructure & Automation: Partner with Data Engineering and Risk Analytics teams to automate risk data pipelines, validation checks, and real-time visualization dashboards (using SQL, Python, or BI tools).
Regulatory Monitoring: Keep abreast of macroeconomic trends and regulatory developments in Singapore (MAS 649, MAS 637) and Malaysia (BNM Policy Documents on Liquidity Risk, LCR, NSFR, Capital Adequacy Framework, and IRRBB), as well as key ASEAN markets, ensuring the Bank's practices remain fully compliant with regional financial regulatory standards.
Experience: 6–10 years of progressive experience in Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Treasury Risk, or ALM within a commercial or digital bank.
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (e.g., Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics).
Domain & Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of treasury operations, financial instruments, liquidity metrics (LCR, NSFR, EWIs), IRRBB methodologies, and cross-border regulatory standards from MAS (e.g., MAS 649, MAS 637) and BNM (e.g., Policy Documents on Liquidity Risk, LCR, NSFR, Capital Adequacy Framework, and IRRBB).
Technical & Programming Skills: Hands-on analytical capability with prior experience in risk modeling and data tools (Python, SQL, R, and advanced Excel).
Capital Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with 2nd-line ICAAP risk-capital modeling and balance sheet stress testing methodology.
Communication & Gravitas: Strong presentation and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear executive insights for senior management, ALCO, and internal working groups.
Mindset: A self-starter with strong execution skills, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, tech-driven, and agile environment.
