As an MBP Scientist II within our Drug Substance manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in supporting the production of biologic medicines by preparing the media and buffer solutions required for manufacturing operations.
Working within a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment, you will help ensure manufacturing teams have the materials they need to safely, efficiently, and consistently produce life-changing therapies for customers around the world.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on manufacturing operations, working in a regulated environment, and contributing directly to the production of biologic medicines.
Prepare and formulate media and buffer solutions used in biologics manufacturing.
Dispense raw materials and support production activities in accordance with approved procedures and manufacturing schedules.
Complete production documentation accurately and in compliance with GMP requirements.
Perform calculations, record manufacturing data, and ensure documentation integrity.
Support investigations, corrective actions, preventive actions (CAPA), deviations, and change controls as required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Assist with the review and update of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workplace safety documentation.
Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and other site functions to support production objectives.
Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), GMP, and quality requirements to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent relevant qualification/experience) is sufficient for this position. Postgraduate qualifications, including Master’s or doctoral degrees, are not required and will not provide an advantage in the selection process. Candidates will be assessed against the skills, experience and requirements specified for the role.
Candidates with relevant manufacturing, laboratory, production, or operational experience are encouraged to apply.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, production, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or other regulated environment.
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles.
Experience preparing solutions, buffers, media, or chemical formulations.
Exposure to quality systems, documentation practices, or regulated workflows.
Physical and Shift Requirements:
Candidates must be willing and able to work in a physically active manufacturing environment, involving regular manual handling of raw materials, repetitive tasks, and extended periods of standing. The role supports the preparation and movement of large-volume media and buffer solutions, including batches of up to 1,000 L per day, and requires adherence to production schedules.
Employees must consistently follow all safety, hygiene, and environmental health requirements, including the use of required PPE. Candidates must also be comfortable working the designated shift pattern and performing these physically demanding responsibilities throughout their scheduled shifts.
