National Route Planner

As part of our continued growth, we’re expanding our Transport team and looking to fill our final National Route Planner vacancy, based at our office in Bedford, MK44 3JZ.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the efficient day-to-day routing of all Copart’s collections, deliveries and returns across our national fleet of Transporters and network of sub-contractors.

You’ll be responsible for maximising fleet productivity, optimising costs and ensuring customer SLAs are consistently met or exceeded, whilst maintaining the highest standards of service for both internal and external customers.

The salary for this position is £33,925.00 per annum.

Office Hours 08:30 - 17:30 - Full time office based.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:-

• Cost effective daily route scheduling through PTV Route Optimiser.
• Create daily reports to analyse and improve collection and delivery performance & productivity
• Always maintain routing software settings to achieve optimum performance
• Achieve and exceed internal KPI targets
• Engage with subcontractors and yards to maintain appropriate performance levels
• Provide monthly reports detailing MPM, Fleet productivity and own driver & sub haul usage and costs

Essential attributes

• Previous route planning experience using route software
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to create meaningful Excel reports
• Demonstrable experience of working to achieve or exceed KPI targets
• Proven ability in identifying new ways of working and making improvements with route scheduling
• Good geographical knowledge
• Fully proficient with Excel & MS packages
• Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable attributes

• Experience of working in the vehicle recovery industry
• Experience of using PTV or a similar routing software, preferably in a multi-site operation
