Description of role:
TWI are seeking to appoint an experienced Deputy Technical Manager to support a newly established Inspection Qualification Services business unit based in Middlesbrough, UK.
The role will support the Technical Manager in the delivery of the independent and impartial qualification of non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures, personnel and equipment in critical safety sectors, including nuclear and defence. All activities will be delivered in accordance with ISO 17020 requirements.
The Deputy Technical Manager will act as a key technical authority within the team, providing Level 3 expertise, supporting technical decision-making, and ensuring the consistent application of inspection and qualification processes. The role will also support the establishment and ongoing development of the business unit, including contribution to technical delivery, compliance activities and business development.

Travel:
This position may require travel on a short-term basis within the UK and overseas according to the demand of client interactions. This role can be offered as a hybrid role with three days working in the office/customer sites and the remainder working at home outwith periods of inspection qualification blind trials, training and commissioning.
