As a DevOps Engineer specializing in Network engineering, you’ll play a key role in delivering secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure for thousands of internal users.
The team
You’ll work as part of the F&R Site Reliability squad, collaborating closely with the Product Owner and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact solutions. Daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and reviews are part of your routine, supported by modern tools and a strong DevOps culture.
Roles and responsibilities
As a skilled network professional, you and your squad are responsible for managing and evolving the Datacenter Network. You will drive innovation across operational processes, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient network infrastructure.
- Strong focus on network operations and brings solid troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
- Design, implement and maintain secure and high-performing network infrastructure.
- Raise and implement network-related change requests
- Monitor, evaluate, and enhance Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management processes
- Actively monitor existing networks and stories and take appropriate proactive actions to maintain them
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Effectively collaborate with the support, technology, project teams to improve and maintain best-in-class IT services
- Share your knowledge by regularly presenting your learnings and coaching others.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to a shared team backlog.
- Continuously improve infrastructure, documentation and processes.
- Support a multi-vendor network infrastructure
- Uphold high standards for timely issue resolution
- Actively monitor IT network usage to ensure compliance with information security policies
- Stay up to date with network infrastructure technology standards
- Contribute to the design, preparation, and execution of network-related activities required for migrating applications and services to the ING Private Cloud (IPC)
- Collaborate closely with IPC Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to guarantee compliant and secure cloud adoption

Technical Skills - Networking & Security
- Expertise Routing & Switching (certification preferred e.g. CCNA/CCNP).
- Experience with routing and switching protocols in high-availability setups, Palo Alto, Check Point, Azure Networking
- Knowledge of LAN, WAN, and Datacenter environments.
- Understanding of security and risk principles in infrastructure design.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls and Open Networking platforms
Cloud & Automation
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or JavaScript, Terraform, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git (GitHub & Azure DevOps)
- Experience with IPC, ICHP and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle Cloud Infra) are preferred.
- Experience as an Automated, cloud-integrated network engineer with VNet, NSG, Azure Firewall and Express Route
DevOps & Agile
- Working knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, Git (GitHub/Azure DevOps)
- Familiarity with Scrum methodology (e.g., backlog, sprint planning, reviews).

Your education and background
- Professional and intellectual IT ability at least a masters degree
- Certifications and proven proficiency in Networking and Security
- You demonstrate at least a 10-year experience in Network environments as a Senior Network Engineer
- You have a specific knowledge on technologies such as Routing, Switching, Firewalling, NAC, DNS, VPN, Load balancing on equipment such as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5
- A knowledge of IP Telephony, Linux RedHat, as well as in IT processes such as ITIL or AGILE.
- Experience and preferable one or more certifications on Azure DevOps
- Certifications and proven proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages
- Excellent command of spoken and written Eng
