Why join us?
Founded in 2002, Nevada Vision Group is an award-winning, doctor-led independent practice with eight optometrists across two Reno locations. Its mission is to be Nevada’s premier optometric practice by delivering comprehensive eye care through exceptional service, professionalism, and clinical skill. The group provides full-scope care, including specialty and scleral contact lenses, myopia management, glaucoma care, and surgical co-management, within a varied, clinically challenging environment. As several long-tenured doctors approach retirement, new optometrists will step into established patient bases, learn alongside experienced colleagues, and help shape the practice’s future while developing expertise in their areas of interest. Recognized as the 2026 Best of Sierra Nevada for Eye Care, Optical, and Customer Service, and as the Reno Gazette Journal’s Best Optometrist in 2025 and 2026, Nevada Vision Group offers the resources and collegial support of Northern Nevada’s largest private practice while preserving the autonomy, culture, and patient relationships of an independent group.
What you’ll do:
As an Associate Optometrist, you’ll deliver comprehensive, full-scope care while building trusted, lasting relationships with patients. Your work will include comprehensive exams, specialty contact lens fittings, including scleral lenses, myopia management, medical eye care, glaucoma management, and surgical co-management. You’ll collaborate with eight experienced optometrists and use advanced technology, including OCT, corneal topography, and Optos Monaco ultra-widefield imaging, to support confident clinical decisions, specialty care, and an efficient patient experience. This role offers a flexible schedule of 24–40 hours per week.
Who you are:
The ideal candidate holds an OD degree from an accredited optometry school, has passed the NBEO, and maintains, or is eligible to obtain, an active Nevada optometry license with therapeutic privileges. Both experienced optometrists and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Residency training, particularly in pediatric optometry or cornea and contact lenses, is valued but not required. The successful candidate will bring strong full-scope clinical skills, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine commitment to thoughtful, exceptional patient care within an independent private practice. A desire to continue learning, develop areas of interest, and become a valued, long-term member of the team is essential.
Why you’ll love Reno:
Set along the Truckee River at the base of the Sierra Nevada, Reno offers an inviting blend of outdoor adventure, vibrant city life, and genuine community spirit. Residents enjoy abundant sunshine and easy access to hiking, biking, skiing, and Lake Tahoe, while the downtown Riverwalk, local restaurants, museums, galleries, and year-round events provide plenty to explore closer to home. With its natural beauty, cultural energy, and welcoming atmosphere, Reno is an exceptional place to build both a rewarding career and a fulfilling life.
