At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.
We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

We’re hiring two partners: one to work with our Customer and Go to Market teams, and one to work with our Product and Engineering teams.
Both roles sit inside a team that takes people and performance seriously - not as an HR function on the periphery of the business, but as a genuine commercial partner within it. These are roles where the work is real and the impact is visible.
You’ll work closely with managers across your area in New Zealand to develop performance, strengthen leadership, and navigate complexity early. You’ll be close to the work and the people, not operating from a distance.
Day to day, that looks like: coaching managers through difficult conversations, handling early employee relations matters with confidence, spotting patterns before they become problems, and building clarity and accountability into how teams operate. You’ll carry signal up and bring perspective down.
Customer and Go to Market: you’ll partner with the teams who sell to, onboard and support our farmers, where pace, targets and customer outcomes shape the work.
Product and Engineering: you’ll partner with the teams who design and build Halter’s software, where technical depth, craft and team design shape the work.
You’ll report into the Head of Partnering for your area and work alongside a tight team of partners who operate the same way: with judgment, not just process.
We’d love someone with HR experience, but we’re genuinely open to people who’ve developed these skills in less traditional ways. If you’ve spent time in roles that called for commercial judgment, clear communication, and navigating people challenges without a set playbook, we’d love to hear from you.
Beyond your background, what matters most is that:
You think commercially.
You’re comfortable holding high standards even when it’s easier not to.
You can challenge someone directly and care personally.
You move at pace, can make calls with incomplete information, and bring precision rather than process.
You know the difference between signal and noise, and you bring the former.
Let us know which role you’re most drawn to - or if you’d be open to either.
These aren’t primarily policy administration or process management roles, and they aren’t a support function that sits behind the business and reacts. If you’re looking for a highly structured environment where established ‘HR best practice’ guides every decision, this might not be the right fit - but if you’re energised by ambiguity and real problems, it could be a great one.
Halter operates by a set of principles we genuinely live by: absolute ownership, max velocity, operating from first principles, and playing for the front of the jersey. That shapes how decisions get made and how we operate.
We operate in a high-performance environment - feedback is direct, expectations are clear, and the standard doesn’t drop for comfort. If that sounds like somewhere you’d thrive, this would be a great role for you.
Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow.
Healthy body, healthy mind. We're partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.
We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.
Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.
Our time to recharge is valued, we're offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
Importantly, we offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
Humans are wired for connection. Being office first is a core pillar of our culture because in-person connections drive your growth, learning, impact, and relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful work together.
We're office first, not office only. Working from the office is our default, but we flex when needed. We have a high-trust culture where everyone is trusted to do what's best for Halter.
Our office vibe is special, the high energy and spectacular people make work enjoyable. Your growth and impact are unlimited here, coming from solving problems, innovating, and constantly learning from each other.
Halter is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace — a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives.
