Hospitals run on three things: their people, their beds, and their supplies… and all are still managed with spreadsheets, phone calls, and gut instinct. Vitalize is building the system that runs it all intelligently, starting with labor—the biggest cost (nearly 60% of a hospital’s P&L) and the hardest operational problem.
We’re building the labor and capacity operating system for health systems—forecasting demand, matching the right staff to it automatically, and coordinating patients across the hospital.
The impact is real: we save hospitals millions in unnecessary labor spend, give clinical leaders back 10–20 hours every week, and are often the reason staff and leaders stay. This isn’t a nice-to-have—our customers pay 5–15x more than legacy incumbents because Vitalize is mission-critical software their hospitals rely on every single minute.
We’ve raised over $32M from top investors, and even our own customers.
We hire and grow everyone against the same four values. Each one comes from a real Vitalize story—interview with us to hear them!
🚗 Push the Car. Step in regardless of role. We help wherever we're needed, own problems end to end, and don't stay in our lane. People can count on us.
🏥 Premier 1K. We show up for our customers, always. Nearly everyone visits a customer site in their first month, and customer feedback informs everything we do.
🗣️ Run Towards the Ugly. Name the ugliest truth first, then propose the fix. Candor over comfort—we call out what's broken, and never get complacent. This shapes our craft.
💡 Think Bigger Fridays. See the gap, fill it—no permission required. Every decision is an experiment: we run it, let the results decide, and drive real impact from day one.
Platform encompasses everything from infrastructure that takes the app from localhost to production, to the developer tooling that allows our developers to focus on product, to the security that keeps our customers’ data safe, and much more. The Platform Team at Vitalize is unique in that we get to decide and own what it means to adopt AI in our workflows. Our job extends beyond traditional DevOps and into AI leadership. This means setting the AI roadmap for the Engineering and broader organization—deciding what workflows to bet on and what tools to incorporate.
We are hiring our second Platform Team member. The role starts with the fundamentals of cloud infrastructure like AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Building on that is a deep understanding of common infrastructure patterns like cybersecurity, observability, and CI/CD. Finally, the role expands to include developer tooling and building internal apps and features that extend beyond the engineering team (e.g. internal agent workflows, onboarding tools, etc.). This means: AWS/EKS -> Vanta/Grafana/Buildkite -> React/Effect/Bun.
Own CI/CD end to end—pipeline code, test orchestration, deploy safety, preview environments (we use Buildkite + self-hosted runners)
Maintain our EKS cluster (along with the AWS infrastructure that supports it)
Build developer tooling with internal stakeholders at the forefront
Own what observability means—what are the right tools? What’s the best way to get alerts? How do we get the right data to the right people at the right time?
Maintain a strong security and compliance posture across all services, both internal and external
Lead AI adoption across Engineering—decide which agent workflows to integrate, which tools to adopt, and build and maintain custom solutions for stakeholders across the organization
Extend beyond traditional Infra/DevOps to include product analytics capture and analysis, as well as helping build and maintain data pipelines to share critical information with leadership & customers
Passion for the space—You have a deep passion for infrastructure, developer tooling, and AI
Empathy for engineers—You understand other engineers and their needs
End-to-end ownership—You own your work end to end, including when it goes wrong
Bias to action—You want to ship fast and fix fast
Curiosity about emerging technology—You’re eager to adopt cutting-edge ways of working (e.g., what does it mean to deeply integrate with AI tools?)
Team mentality—You believe in “our code”—you might not have written it, but we’re a team and we’re going to fix it together
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) with company match
Flexible PTO
Unlimited travel budget to visit customer sites
Twice-yearly company off-sites
Free meals in the office
$5,000 relocation bonus for eligible employees
Desk setup reimbursement
Commuter benefits
Monthly gym/wellness stipend
