The Artificial Photosynthesis (AP) group is currently seeking Postdoctoral Research Associates to join the group to conduct basic energy research. The AP group conducts integrated research with complementary expertise in chemical synthesis, catalysis, photochemistry, pulse radiolysis, and theoretical/computational chemistry.
There is a strong focus on advancing the science for integration of molecular components and interfacial studies for solar-to-fuels conversion. This involves detailed mechanistic understanding of molecular chromophores and catalysts and principles to integrate units for efficient and robust light-driven small molecule transformations, including water oxidation, reduction of CO2 beyond CO and formate and dinitrogen reduction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will work collaboratively with a team of scientists from the AP group. Duties will include the synthesis of catalysts and chromophores, mechanistic studies using steady-state and time-resolved techniques as well as photochemical studies.
