About Orium
Orium builds smart, modern commerce solutions that help enterprise brands move faster and stay ahead.
By bringing together AI, data, and composable systems, we create experiences designed for collaboration between people and intelligent agents, helping our clients work more efficiently, adapt quickly, and gain a long-term competitive edge.
With more composable launches than any firm in the Americas and deep expertise across commerce architecture, we partner with leading technology providers to deliver scalable solutions that evolve with our clients and accelerate time to value.
We blend systems thinking, data-driven design, and intelligent delivery, embedding AI and agents into our own teams to move faster, reduce friction, and co-create with greater precision. The result: adaptive, cross-channel experiences that keep our clients ahead of what's next.
About the Opportunity
We're hiring a Practice Lead, Payments & Financial Infrastructure to build and grow our Stripe go-to-market.
Our Commerce line is expanding into Commerce & Financial Infrastructure: payments, billing, marketplaces, and agentic commerce, built alongside the commerce platform. Stripe sits at the center of that plan. We already run joint workshops with Stripe, ship Stripe-anchored accelerators, and co-build solutions together. This role turns that momentum into a repeatable practice.
You'll be the relationship driver and payments voice in the room: running executive workshops with Stripe, shaping the business cases that get projects funded, and helping our sales team win. You need real hands-on payments experience, the confidence to hold a conversation with a client's finance and commerce leaders, and the drive to build something new.
This role reports to our VP of Enterprise Commerce and partners closely with our sales, delivery, and partnership teams, and with Stripe's partner and solutions teams.
This is a remote role open to candidates based in Canada, with travel up to 25% for client workshops and Stripe events.
Responsibilities
Stripe Go-To-Market
- Build and run the joint plan with Stripe's partner and sales teams, including target accounts, co-sell motions, and Stripe-funded engagements.
- Package and launch offerings with Stripe, including payments migration, Checkout upgrades, marketplace payments on Connect, billing, and agentic commerce.
- Work with our Account Executives to build pipeline through account plans, joint events, and thought leadership.
- Enable internal and partner teams on our payments offerings.
Executive Workshops
- Lead billable executive sessions such as our one-day agentic commerce workshop with Stripe and our two-week payments performance review.
- Bring commerce, payments, finance, and IT leaders to a prioritized plan with clear owners.
- Turn workshops into follow-on engagements, so a first session becomes a roadmap and a signed statement of work.
Business Cases
- Shape ROI models tied to a client's P&L, including authorization lift, processing cost, fraud and dispute loss, conversion, and cost to serve.
- Write clear summaries that help finance leaders fund projects and give Stripe the case to co-invest.
Sales and Delivery Support
- Join discovery and pursuits as the payments expert, guiding our Account Executives through Stripe-anchored deals and shaping solutions with our delivery leads and Stripe's solution architects.
- Help scope statements of work with delivery, and own the payments sections of proposals and RFPs.
- Provide billable expert guidance on Stripe implementations, alongside the delivery team that builds them.
- Equip Account Executives with talk tracks, qualification questions, and demos.
Measurement and Accountability
- Track and report on Stripe-sourced and co-sold pipeline, closed revenue from Stripe-anchored deals, billable work delivered, workshops run, and offerings launched.
- Feed what's working back into the practice, so offerings and targeting improve over time.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years in the payments industry, at a payment processor, acquirer, fintech, or consultancy delivering payments programs.
- Go-to-market acumen: you've worked directly with partners and clients on pursuits, partner plays, or co-sell motions, and helped win deals.
- Working knowledge of how payments perform, including authorization and decline management, processing cost, tokenization, fraud and disputes, and payouts and reconciliation.
- Experience building ROI models or business cases that finance leaders have used to fund a decision.
- Comfort reading a merchant's numbers and explaining where payments affect margin and conversion.
- Hands-on experience with Stripe, such as Payments, Connect, or Billing. If you know payments well but are newer to Stripe, we'll invest in getting you there.
- Confidence facilitating sessions with senior client stakeholders, and clear, persuasive writing.
- Understanding of how payments connect to commerce platforms and ERPs.
- Real comfort using AI tools in your day-to-day work.
- Based in Canada; eligible to work remotely.
Deep expertise across every Stripe product is not required on day one. Experience with Radar, Tax, Adyen or other processors, multi-processor routing, agentic commerce protocols, B2B payments, commercetools, Shopify, Mirakl, or ERPs such as SAP and NetSuite is a strong plus, as is French or Spanish.
Is This Role a Fit for You?
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Want to build a practice, not inherit one. You're energized by standing something up rather than stepping into a mature function.
- Love the moment a finance leader sees the numbers and the project gets funded.
- Can go deep on payment flows with a solutions architect, then translate them into margin and conversion for a CFO the same afternoon.
- Enjoy working shoulder to shoulder with a partner like Stripe, and see partner relationships as a growth engine rather than a referral channel.
- Understand that selling custom-scoped services is a different conversation than selling a product.
- Reach for AI and automation to move faster, and you're curious about where agentic commerce is taking payments.
- Are excited by the moment we're in, where AI, commerce, and payments are reshaping how brands sell and how money moves.
Compensation and Hiring Transparency
- Expected Compensation (Canada): $140,000 to $160,000 CAD annualized base salary + $40,000 CAD target variable compensation; $180,000 to $200,000 CAD OTE. This stated range does not include any benefits, which are also a component of this role. Orium lists this range in good faith, reflecting expected compensation for this role in the specified locations as of this posting. Final offers consider education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, internal equity, and business needs.
- Use of AI in Hiring: To keep the process efficient and focused on human connection, we use AI-enabled and automated tools for tasks like candidate communications and scheduling, application screening questions, interview note-taking, and summarizing feedback for hiring teams. Our recruiters and hiring managers review all information, and humans make every hiring decision.
- Vacancy Status: This posting is for a newly created role we are actively hiring for.
Benefits and Perks
- Flexible schedule of full-time hours with a remote-first setup: focus on results, not where you work.
- Ongoing opportunities for professional development, including certifications, conferences, and in-house mentorship.
- Dedicated "Awesome time" for personal growth, experimentation, or independent projects.
- Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, parental top-up, mental health support, and an EAP.
- Minimum vacation policy and flexible work options.
Performance and Growth Expectations
We emphasize accountability for outcomes, but autonomy in activities. Your work will be measured across a number of data points (peer, leader & project team feedback) and will also be measured on the basis of client and user satisfaction. Your growth path is in your hands. You'll have ongoing meetings with your leader to help determine your path, but your progress will be based on what you hope to achieve and how you choose to access the resources available to you.
Committed to an Inclusive Workplace
We are committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment as we build a workforce that reflects the diversity of the community in which we live, including those with disabilities. We are dedicated to providing accommodations in all parts of the hiring process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code. If you require any accommodation, we will work with you to meet your needs.
Committed to Social and Environmental Stewardship
Orium is committed to promoting and working towards a more socially and environmentally sustainable future. All employees are expected to make decisions and take actions in relation to their role and work that follow through on this commitment.
