How You’ll Make an Impact
Our Enterprise field sales professionals, including Strategic Account Executives and Account Managers, rely on senior technical partnership across long, multi-threaded sales cycles. Our Solution Engineers (SEs) lead that effort. They follow a prescriptive technical sales cycle and engagement model, with a relentless focus on effectiveness and efficiency across our core “Majors”: Integration (iPaaS), API Management, Data Management, AI, and Platform Engineering.
Our SEs are strategic partners to the largest and most complex organizations in the world (typically $1B+ in annual revenue). They build trust with technical teams and executive stakeholders across IT, architecture, security, and the business. As a Solution Engineering leader supporting the Enterprise business, you will direct a team of SEs to earn the “technical win” in complex, high-value deals through deep discovery, strategic win-plans, proofs of concept, and executive-level presentations that show the full power of the Boomi platform.
Our Solution Engineering organization is always evolving, guided by five Principles:
- Global Community: Shared global expertise over individual heroics.
- Thought Leaders: Defining the future of intelligent automation, not just responding to it.
- Trusted Advisors: Shaping long-term strategic visions through “The Art of the Possible.”
- Operational Excellence: Precision and impact through a disciplined, data-driven approach.
- Culture: Curiosity and connection as catalysts for creative breakthroughs.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Leadership: Direct your SE team to achieve strategic and operational objectives across net-new logo and expansion business. You will focus on de-risking the technical sales cycle, increasing win rates on large deals, and shortening time to technical win without cutting corners on rigor.
- Talent Development: Hire, onboard, and grow a high-performing team of senior SEs. You will lead career development planning, performance coaching, and pay discussions, and build the next generation of Boomi leaders.
- Sales Cycle Management: Partner with Regional Sales Directors (RSDs) and Enterprise Sellers on pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and deal-level risk. You will give your team clear guidance for complex scenarios like competitive displacement, multi-stakeholder buying groups, security and architecture reviews, and procurement.
- Strategic Deal & POC Leadership: Step directly into strategic deals as an executive sponsor and technical leader. You will own the design, scoping, and success criteria of proofs of concept and technical validations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Be the primary interface between the Enterprise team and our specialized “Majors” technical teams (AI, API, Platform, etc.), so deep-dive resources are deployed where they matter most. You will also work with Partners, SIs, Product, and Services to line up solutions with long-term customer outcomes.
- Communication & Influence: Bridge your team and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). You will gather field feedback and turn it into clear, influential communication that drives change across the organization.
- Process & Enablement: Design repeatable programs for onboarding, enablement, and standardization that scale the team without adding headcount.
- Modern Tooling & Coaching: Use Gong for call coaching and team upleveling, and Consensus for a library of automated demos and customer-facing assets.
The Experience You Bring
- Leadership Experience: 3+ years of leadership experience (managing people or leading high-impact project teams), ideally in an enterprise sales or presales environment.
- Presales Expertise: Strong command of enterprise sales and presales methodologies (e.g., Command of the Message, MEDDICC, Value Selling) and experience supporting complex, multi-threaded deal cycles.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to connect complex technical capabilities across the Boomi pillars (iPaaS, API Management, AI, Data Management, Platform Engineering) to business value and ROI for large, hybrid, multi-cloud environments.
- Motivational Leadership: A passion for mentoring and a proven ability to inspire a team toward a common goal.
- Analytical Thinking: Excellent process design skills, with the ability to build and optimize operations for a complex sales motion.
- Customer-Facing Excellence: A track record of technical authority and executive-level trust with C-suite, VP, and enterprise architecture stakeholders.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Advanced Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in solution engineering, services, or other client-facing work in software/technology (iPaaS or PaaS preferred).
- Field Experience: Prior experience as an Enterprise Solution Engineer or in a related role.
- Boomi Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Boomi platform and the competitive landscape across all five “Majors.”
- Enterprise Ecosystem Fluency: Experience working with SIs, hyperscalers, and strategic partners in large-account deals.
