About us
Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We solve the problems others choose to ignore, with surprising new inventions that defy convention and simply work better. We’re driven by progress and thrive on the challenge of relentless improvement. We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge – more categories, more locations, and more people.
We push the boundaries of what others have defined as possible. Our engineering approach starts with different thinking. Then we continuously refine our ideas – unwilling to compromise and driven by an obsession for finding a better way. Today we employ more than 5,800 people around the world in software engineering, mechanical engineering, and science-related roles.
Our product development teams take radical new ideas and develop them into reality. They explore the limits of our technology and optimise it through relentless experimenting, testing, and iterating. Our New Product Innovation team is our ideas centre. It identifies new problems and develops concepts to solve them with disruptive and ground-breaking technology. Our New Product Development team takes these concepts and works closely with our global engineering and production teams to turn them into machines that are ready to launch. It then develops new ways to test and evaluate performance, to accurately position our technology against our competition. The teams collaborate with Research specialists, downstream RDD teams along with a range of satellite teams to form complete concept proposals and business cases that can be presented to executive stakeholders, including James and Jake Dyson.
