A Day in the Life
CathWorks, recently acquired by Medtronic, is a leader in digital health innovation. The CathWorks FFRangio® System combines artificial intelligence (AI) and computational science to derive physiologic information from routine angiograms (X-rays), eliminating the need for drug stimulation and invasive pressure wires. We are looking for a Software QA Automation Engineer to contribute across Scrum teams and help ensure software quality, reliability, and safety throughout the development lifecycle.
We are looking for a Product Security Engineer to own the cybersecurity of the CathWorks platform medical device, including its OS, clinical applications, hardened environment and custom UI shell, from design through post-market. You will be the technical authority for security across the product lifecycle: architecture, secure development, hardening, verification, regulatory documentation, and post-market vulnerability management.
CathWorks platform runs in the Cath lab, alongside imaging systems and hospital networks, and handles sensitive patient imaging data. Security here is a patient-safety matter as well as a regulatory requirement, and this role sits at the intersection of software development, engineering, quality, and regulatory affairs.
This position is based in Kfar Saba, Israel and follows an onsite work model. The role partners closely with Software Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Product teams to embed cybersecurity into product design, development, verification, deployment, and maintenance.
As the Product Security Engineer, you will serve as the cybersecurity owner for the CathWorks platform and software products. You will define and maintain product security architecture, drive secure development practices, oversee security validation activities, and support global regulatory and post-market cybersecurity requirements for medical device products deployed in clinical environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead product threat modeling activities and maintain cybersecurity architecture, attack analyses, and security risk assessments throughout the product lifecycle.
- Define security requirements and conduct design reviews for software features, system integrations, and third-party components.
- Establish and maintain secure Windows platform configurations, including operating system hardening, application control, secure boot, encryption, and access management.
- Integrate cybersecurity requirements into the software development lifecycle through secure coding practices, security testing, vulnerability scanning, and CI/CD security controls.
- Manage Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) processes, third-party component inventories, and vulnerability monitoring activities.
- Define and execute cybersecurity verification activities including penetration testing, fuzz testing, vulnerability assessments, and remediation tracking.
- Prepare cybersecurity documentation for regulatory submissions, audits, and compliance activities supporting global medical device requirements.
- Lead post-market cybersecurity activities including vulnerability triage, risk evaluations, coordinated disclosure processes, incident response support, and customer communications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in product security, application security, or cybersecurity engineering.
- Experience with Windows security technologies including access controls, User Account Control (UAC), Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC), AppLocker, BitLocker, Group Policy, and operating system hardening.
- Experience performing threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and security risk assessments for software products.
- Experience with secure software development lifecycle practices, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), SBOM generation, and CI/CD security integration.
- Experience with cryptography, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Transport Layer Security (TLS), certificate management, and code signing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing regulated medical devices under IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, IEC 81001-5-1, or AAMI TIR57 requirements.
- Experience supporting FDA cybersecurity submissions and regulatory cybersecurity documentation.
- Knowledge of DICOM, PACS, HL7, FHIR, or medical imaging environments.
