Principal Software Engineer (Assistant Vice President) - Markets Systems - IT

Job Summary:

The Markets Systems team is responsible for delivering first-in-class systems for trading, market data dissemination and surveillance monitoring in cash and derivatives markets. We play a critical role in managing the full software development cycle, including architecture design, development, testing and implementation of our mission critical systems. We also partner with infrastructure and cyber security team to operate our systems in such fast growing financial markets in Hong Kong.

Job Duties:

Job Responsibilities:

• ​Build low latency trading infrastructures on premises 

• Integrate and support mission critical systems for cash and derivatives markets in HKEX

• Automate and streamline system health check and operations

• Assess technological and security risk, drive mitigation actions

• Carry out production support

•  Establish technical excellence and standard following industry best practices

• Uphold compliance with organization policies and standards

Job Requirements:

• Experienced in building or supporting low latency trading or market data infrastructure, including network and server setup with kernel by-pass technology

• Experienced in systems integration, configuration management and environment management

• Solid experience in shell scripting (e.g. bash), Python, SQL and DevOps

• Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills

• Detail-oriented, able to deliver the best quality of work on planning, coordination and execution

• Experienced in technical testing and deployment is an added advantage

• Good understanding of enterprise server setup and network topology is an added advantage

• Be an excellent team player to collaborate with multiple teams
