For over forty years, HarbourVest has been home to a committed team of professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to deliver impactful solutions to our clients and investing partners. As our global firm grows, we continue to add individuals who seek a collaborative, open-door culture that values diversity and innovative thinking.
In our collegial environment that’s marked by low turnover and high energy, you’ll be inspired to grow and thrive. Here, you will be encouraged to build on your strengths and acquire new skills and experiences.
We are committed to fostering an environment of inclusion that promotes mutual respect among all employees. Understanding and valuing these differences optimizes the potential of both the individual and the firm.
HarbourVest is an equal opportunity employer.
This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.
The Product Management Associate will support the growth of HarbourVest’s Infrastructure & Real Assets Investment group globally, playing a key role in the business operations of the team. The role will have exposure to a wide range of activities including client service / fundraising activities, portfolio analysis and reporting, capital activity and fund management, and the investment process. The role will also serve as a liaison across multiple departments including Investments, Accounting, Marketing, and Investor Relations.
Please note that this role is not focused on evaluating and executing Infrastructure & Real Assets investments.
The ideal candidate is someone who is:
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership over recurring deliverables and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
A clear, confident communicator who can distill complex portfolio and fund information into concise, client-ready materials for a range of audiences.
A natural relationship-builder who enjoys collaborating across teams (Investments, Accounting, Marketing, Investor Relations) to keep cross-functional projects on track.
Experienced in managing and coordinating the end-to-end RFP and due diligence questionnaire (DDQ) process, and delivering timely, high-quality servicing to prospective and existing investors.
A data-driven thinker and can help map, track, and analyze investor engagement activity to support fundraising and relationship management efforts.
A proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collegial environment and is eager to build deeper expertise in infrastructure and real assets over time.
What you will do:
Own recurring deliverables for the Infrastructure & Real Assets practice across funds, separate accounts, and individual deals, including portfolio updates and reporting, presentation materials, DDQs, client reporting, and other ad hoc investor requests.
Maintain the Infrastructure & Real Assets track record and supporting metrics, ensuring data integrity, accuracy and completeness.
Participate in weekly Infrastructure & Real Assets Investment group meetings.
Perform portfolio and strategy-level analyses to support management decisions, client requests, and internal reporting.
Support the lifecycle operations of Infrastructure & Real Assets funds and SPVs, including liquidity and capital planning, cash flow modeling, and related capital activity.
Liaise with multiple HarbourVest teams to support ongoing monitoring, capital raising, and investor servicing for Infrastructure & Real Assets products as required.
Perform other responsibilities as required.
What you bring:
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple recurring deliverables and competing deadlines simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to quickly understand complex topics, distill information into key insights, and communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
A foundational understanding of private markets terminology and performance metrics; familiarity with infrastructure and real assets is a plus, and we will help you build depth in the asset class.
Education
Bachelor of Arts (B.A) / Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or CFA is a plus but not required.
Experience
2-5 years of relevant experience in institutional relationship management or business development, private equity, asset management, or related financial services role preferred.
