Roles and Responsibilities
Industrialize machining processes for new and existing products.
Qualify CNC milling/turning, EDM, lathes, and other machining processes to ensure compliance with GE Vernova specifications and quality standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize machining processes for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure machining processes adhere to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) standards.
Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to machining processes.
Implement corrective actions to address deviations from SQDC standards.
Lead risk reduction and quality improvement projects to enhance machining processes.
Drive productivity and sustainability initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools and methodologies to solve complex machining and process-related problems.
Apply lean manufacturing principles to process design and continuous improvement.
Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities within machining processes.
Provide technical guidance, training, and support to machining operators and technicians.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
At least 5 years of hands-on machining experience.
Minimum 3-axis machining experience.
Practical knowledge and experience in CNC machining or related machining processes.
Familiarity with tooling selection, fixture design, CAD, CAM, and metrology.
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge or experience in gas turbine component repair is advantageous.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on ensuring machining processes meet required quality standards.
