As a Product Manager, your key area of responsibility will be discovering, developing, and cultivating new products and ongoing product enhancements to build customer intelligence and advance the product strategy. You will need to work closely with senior product leadership, cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Marketing, Support), Sales, and UX designers, developers, and data scientists. To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter and resourceful professional with strong analytical, communication, empathetic listening, and problem-solving skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong organizational abilities, an entrepreneurial mindset, and experience balancing short-term sales targets with long-term strategic investments.
Perform customer discovery interviews with prospective and existing customers and partners to identify product gaps and generate new ideas for continuous value add for existing customers, grow market share for new customers, and overall improve Geotab’s customer experience.
Leverage various research methodologies and customer inputs to identify common patterns, pain points, problems to be solved/jobs to be done, and use this to identify relevant solution opportunities/product efforts.
Develop a product roadmap and align internal stakeholders to the developed roadmap strategy.
Work closely with senior members of the team and product leadership to provide input on the long-term vision of the product.
Work with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Marketing, Support, and others) to build and execute the product development and go-to-market strategy for key roadmap deliverables.
Prioritize building what matters most by balancing short-term sales targets with long-term strategic investments for the business.
Collaboratively define and drive reporting and monitoring mechanisms against set product outcomes and use them as a tool to measure continued success of product efforts (both qualitative and quantitative).
Collaborate with other product managers on designing and executing market feedback loops and incorporate into product planning:
Sales: participate in win-loss interviews and analysis; identify hard sales blockers and soft sales objections.
Retention and Referral: feedback/satisfaction/effectiveness interviews and analysis.
Clearly communicate the Why for every product effort and educate other stakeholders on the problems to be solved, business objectives, etc. Leverage this in collaboration with UX designers, developers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to do:
Problem and solution validation.
Translate the customer needs into user stories, feature epics, and work to be done to bring the product effort to life.
Prioritize epics relative to technical debt and other company product investments.
Help improve the Product Management practice at Geotab.
3 - 5 years of experience in product management, customer discovery, or a related field; experience in a SaaS environment is highly valued.
Post-secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent work experience; specialization in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field is highly valued.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills (in person and virtually), and the ability to deliver training effectively.
Self-starter and resourceful with strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve to make well-judged decisions.
Strategic mindset with a keen sense of priorities and the ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
Strong team player with a well-defined sense of diplomacy, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of user engagement metrics and product KPIs to drive data-informed decision-making and enhance product performance.
Knowledge of Agile planning methods and practices alongside strong organizational skills to manage products from discovery to launch.

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job.
