“I can succeed as a product leader in Capital Group's AI Transformation Incubator.”

Capital Group aspires to be a leader among global asset managers in the adoption of AI to drive productivity and innovation. We believe the emergence of Agentic AI represents a significant inflection point for the firm.

The AI Transformation Incubator is a central innovation engine designed to identify, pilot, and scale a revolving portfolio of 5-6 high-impact initiatives that reimagine end-to-end business processes using advanced AI capabilities.

We're looking for an exceptional technical product leader who loves building new products, solving hard problems, and challenging conventional approaches to enterprise technology.

This is not a traditional product management role. You'll operate at the intersection of product, engineering, data, and enterprise transformation, helping us turn ambitious AI ideas into valuable, scalable  products for internal customers. You'll partner deeply with business leaders and technology teams, while bringing the product judgment, technical fluency and mindset to

investigate challenges, test solutions, and unblock progress.

You are a builder first, with strong product instincts. You are equally comfortable working with executives to define a business problem, engaging users to understand their needs, , prototyping with modern AI development tools, and partnering with engineers to bring a product to life and partnering with the business to ensure we achieve strong business impact

What You'll Do

Build, Experiment & Solve Hard Problems

• Translate ambiguous business problems into working prototypes, experiments, and ultimately production-ready products.
• Identify and work through technical constraints involving enterprise platforms, data access, integrations, infrastructure, and existing architecture.
• Challenge assumptions about what is technically possible, bringing creative alternatives and evidence-based recommendations when conventional approaches fall short.
• Distinguish between problems requiring fundamental architectural changes and those that can be solved through pragmatic engineering, configuration, or better execution.

Lead Technical Product Innovation

• Shape product direction and architecture in partnership with engineers, business stakeholders, and enterprise technology leaders.
• Apply deep working knowledge of modern AI systems, including LLMs, agentic workflows, orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, and observability.
• Help teams make informed tradeoffs across technical complexity, business value, speed, reliability, and cost.
• Identify opportunities to turn successful experiments into reusable services, frameworks, or capabilities that can accelerate other incubator initiatives.

Navigate Enterprise Complexity

• Work across business, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, and data teams to resolve difficult dependencies and accelerate delivery.
• Bring credible technical alternatives to discussions where existing platforms, standards, processes, or organizational boundaries constrain progress.
• Establish strong relationships with technology partners while constructively challenging decisions that may limit business outcomes.

What Success Looks Like

• High-impact AI initiatives move faster because you've helped teams solve problems that previously appeared intractable.
• You can move independently from a business problem to a credible prototype, without waiting for someone else to translate every idea into a solution.
• Business leaders trust your ability to turn complex challenges into clear product choices and investment recommendations.  Engineering leaders value the clarity you bring to customer needs, priorities, product intent, and measures of success.
• Successful experiments become scalable products and reusable capabilities rather than isolated proofs of concept.
• Your work improves not only what the incubators deliver, but how Capital Group builds and deploys AI products more broadly.

“I Am the Person Capital Group Is Looking For.”

You bring:

• A demonstrated builder mentality. You've personally designed, prototyped, and shipped software, and remain comfortable writing and reviewing code. You don't rely exclusively on engineering teams to turn an idea into something tangible.
• Strong product judgment. You know how to identify valuable problems, understand users, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and distinguish technically interesting ideas from commercially meaningful opportunities.
• Applied AI experience. You've built or deployed AI-powered applications and understand the practical engineering challenges of integrating models, enterprise data, APIs, and workflows into reliable systems.
• Systems thinking. You can reason across applications, data, infrastructure, identity, security, and integration layers, identifying root causes and architectural implications rather than treating each issue in isolation.
• Creative problem-solving. You're resourceful, curious, and willing to challenge conventional approaches. Your instinct when encountering a blocker is to understand it deeply, explore alternatives, and find a responsible way forward.
• Exceptional influence. You can earn credibility with senior engineers and executives alike, navigate organizational complexity, and constructively challenge established thinking without creating unnecessary friction.
• Comfort with ambiguity. You've succeeded in entrepreneurial or fast-moving environments where the problem, technology, and path to production weren't fully defined.
• Sound risk judgment. You understand how to build quickly while respecting the security, privacy, governance, and operational requirements of a regulated enterprise.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage a roadmap, coordinate engineering work, or focus primarily on stakeholder management.

It is an opportunity to:

• Work on a small number of Capital Group's highest-conviction AI transformation opportunities.
• Operate with the autonomy and creativity of an early-stage technology company, while solving complex problems inside a global enterprise.
• Help bridge the gap between emerging AI capabilities and the realities of enterprise technology architecture and delivery.
• Influence both the products we build and the underlying technology capabilities and operating practices that enable us to scale them.
