At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.
We are seeking a Project Manager II to independently lead complex ecological restoration projects across planning, permitting, field execution, and delivery. If you’re experienced in managing multi-disciplinary teams, working with contractors, and driving technical projects with minimal supervision—this is your chance to make a real, tangible impact on the environment.
You’ll work out of one of RES’s regional offices or field hubs, collaborating closely with internal scientists, engineers, construction teams, external stakeholders, and subcontractors. You can expect to travel up to 25–50% of the time, particularly during project kickoffs, field execution phases, and regulatory milestones.
You’ll lead environmentally meaningful projects that have a direct, measurable impact
You’ll have autonomy to manage your projects from conception through completion
You’ll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, innovation, and initiative
You’ll work with experienced professionals who are passionate about science and sustainability
You’ll have opportunities to mentor others and grow into a senior leadership role
A Day in the Life
As a Project Manager II at RES, your days will involve leading restoration projects through every phase—from opportunity development to construction close-out. You’ll develop project schedules, build and manage budgets, lead cross-functional team meetings, and ensure regulatory compliance. You’ll work independently to resolve project challenges, mitigate risks, and keep stakeholders informed. Using RES’s Best Management Practices (BMPs)—including Opportunity Charters, Risk Registers, and Project Plans—you’ll track performance and drive results.
In the field, you might be coordinating subcontractors, inspecting active sites, or conducting team check-ins. At your desk, you’ll review technical documents, prepare financial reports, and communicate updates with clients and regulators. Every day, you’ll have the opportunity to lead meaningful work that restores critical ecosystems.
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
PMP certification, PE/PG license, or relevant advanced degree
Experience managing ecological restoration, mitigation banking, or conservation projects
Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and mentor junior PMs or technical staff
Experience with complex stakeholder coordination, including regulators, clients, and contractors
Please note that the “Day in the Life” section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of job duties, but rather a representative snapshot of typical responsibilities and work experiences at RES.
