Quality Engineer

About Pierce, an Oshkosh company

At Pierce Manufacturing, we build trucks that protect people and communities around the world. To our team, there is no room for anything less than providing the absolute best. Since 1913, building truck bodies on Model T Ford chassis in an old converted church has evolved to creating highly customized, carefully designed and engineering pumpers, aerials, tankers and rescue units that have no equal. Today, you'll find more than 30,000 Pierce apparatuses on the road that are making a difference in people's lives, every day. To us, every step in the process of building our trucks is personal. From innovation and expertise, to the customization and service. Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.

Make an impact on the quality of the custom-built fire trucks trusted by communities around the world. As a Quality Engineer supporting Pierce Manufacturing, you’ll be a key partner to our Quality organization and production teams, helping ensure every fire apparatus we build meets the highest standards for safety, quality, and performance.

In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with team members, leaders, and cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, improve manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement across the operation. You’ll apply disciplined problem-solving tools and engineering expertise to identify root causes, eliminate quality issues, reduce costs, and create processes that deliver stronger results for both our business and our customers. From improving part quality and inventory accuracy to increasing production throughput and optimizing plant flow, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of meaningful projects that directly influence how we build some of the most advanced custom fire trucks in the industry. This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, building strong relationships, and turning challenges into practical, sustainable solutions.
