Responsibilities

This position is responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining code for the Topology product in a highly skilled and collaborative peer environment. The successful candidate will perform complex design work as well as coding, testing, and debugging tasks. Additionally adhering to our #1 goal of keeping our customers happy and maintain Broadcom’s reputation as the #1 Mainframe ISV, contributing to our financial success you will be responsible to conduct following:

• Working collaboratively within an Agile team to analyze and translate business requirements and write high quality, testable, maintainable code that meets acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done.
• Working with QA specialists to improve overall product quality through technical and process improvements as well as consulting on optimal test approaches.
• Creating automated unit, system, and acceptance tests as needed.
• In collaboration with colleagues, helping to identify and resolve team impediments.
• Actively communicating and collaborating within the team and across functional boundaries (partnering with stakeholders such as Product Owners, Product Architects).
• Improving the overall skill level of the team by mentoring / teaching / coaching.
• Using technical insight and consultancy to help define the strategic direction of the product in collaboration with colleagues in R&D and Product Management.
• Possibility to engage with Mainframe communities and represent Broadcom MSD as an added benefit and an opportunity to self develop.

The Opportunity
The Broadcom Mainframe Division in Prague, CZ develops leading AIOps and Automation technology driving the world’s largest banks, insurance companies, shipping and logistics companies, airlines, retailers and more.  Our technology monitors mainframe systems and devices in large-scale enterprises, enabling event correlation among the many varied systems.  Our product monitors and auto discovers the enterprise applications and infrastructure on very large Mainframe environments. This demands exceptional innovation from the best and brightest minds - which is where you come in.


Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in a related field
• Typically, 8 or more years of experience in software development or a related field
• Familiarity with Agile principles and methodologies
• Strong level of knowledge of z/OS Internals
• Experience with HLASM and/or Metal C
• Experience working with SCM tools such as Endevor
• Good understanding of one or more of the following: Db2, IMS, IDMS, CICS and Datacom
• Familiarity with QA and DevOps concepts and practices such as test automation, CI/CD etc.
• Experience in some of the following areas is a plus:
• Git, Jenkins, Artifactory
• SMF records and z/OS infrastructure
• PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL
