Your next career opportunity
In this role, you will design and deliver data systems that power CGCPT’s pandemic therapeutics research.
You will link complex biological and clinical datasets, enabling advanced AI and analytics across the Doherty Institute.
You will collaborate with leading scientists and clinicians while growing your expertise in health data engineering.

What you will deliver:

• Design and maintain databases and data-lakes that securely store and retrieve diverse biological and clinical data.
• Develop software infrastructure to link pathogen, immune response, clinical and epidemiological data at sample level.
• Implement data integration and sharing workflows that enable AI/ML training and analytics within and beyond CGCPT.
• Partner with governance, ethics, executive and research stakeholders to align data solutions with approvals and strategy.
• Contribute to grant proposals, presentations, seminars and supervision activities that strengthen data science capacity.

You may be a great fit if you:

• Hold a Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Bring proven experience delivering software engineering projects, from design through implementation and ongoing maintenance.
• Develop and optimise databases using SQL or similar technologies, including solutions for data integration.
• Use Git and GitHub confidently to manage code, version control, and collaborative development workflows.
• Build modern web applications with JavaScript or TypeScript, Node.js and contemporary web frameworks.
• Demonstrate strong self-management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills within multidisciplinary environments.
