The Chakraborty Laboratory studies chromatin biology and the effects of dysregulated oxygen-dependent enzymes, particularly JumonjiC-family histone demethylases (KDMs). This research focuses on understanding how dioxygenase dysfunction contributes to kidney cancer, where these enzymes are frequently mutated, and hypoxic tumors, where reduced oxygen availability can impair enzyme activity. The laboratory aims to leverage these enzyme dysfunctions and resulting epigenetic abnormalities to identify targetable vulnerabilities and advance cancer research. As a Research Technician on our team, you will perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for assigned experimental studies and projects. In this role, you will assist with establishing and scheduling procedures and analyses, conduct tests using various laboratory equipment and instrumentation, assemble experimental results for review by staff, and order laboratory supplies and equipment.
