**About Theseus**
Theseus is a defense company with offices in SF and Kyiv. We have customers in every branch of the USDOD, major defense primes, and our product is actively used in combat. We build Cyclops, localization software that replaces GPS. It can use any camera (EO or IR) and runs on a Raspberry Pi 5 or similar level of compute. We fuse satellite imagery with camera input and onboard sensors to generate a reliable position that can’t be jammed.
This is our second product, built using feedback from our first product which did the same thing but worse. This year, we expect to sell > 10,000 licenses. After two years, we have the best product available on the market, and demand is very high.
**The Role**
We are looking for robotics engineers with SLAM, VIO, localization or state estimation experience. You’ll work on new algorithms to improve Cyclops’ accuracy, robustness, and reliability. Your work will be guided by feedback from real world deployments and iterations. We hope you will grow to lead much of the localization work we do, and help build a universal alternative to GPS.
What you will work on in your first 90 days:
* Design and improve our localization algorithms to deliver high accuracy across day, night, and degraded visual conditions
* Own and contribute to architecture decisions across the sensor fusion stack
* Develop next-generation algorithms for OOM improvements in robustness/availability/accuracy
* Build features into the estimator that increase uptime and make the system easier for operators to set up
* Fix issues from real world deployments and coordinate solutions with forward deployed engineering
Who we are looking for:
* You have built an EKF, factor graph, VIO, or SLAM system and can derive it on a whiteboard
* You have experience deploying localization software on real hardware / in production
* Strong C++, comfortable with Python and Linux
Nice to have:
* Experience with camera/IMU calibration
* Experience with drones, ArduPilot, MAVLink
* Real-time deployment on embedded devices
