Remote, U.S.-based · $90,000 OTE ($60,000 base + $30,000 variable) · Launch your sales career

The Securly safetyOS™ keeps 20M+ students safe across 20,000+ schools and is credited with helping save 2,400+ student lives, and every district we reach starts with a conversation a BDR opened. If you love the phone, thrive on activity, and want work that matters, this is the role.
Why you'll love this role
- Real impact: you'll connect schools with the platform that keeps their students safe online, in class, and in the halls
- A real ramp: structured onboarding and weekly coaching, built for experienced SDRs and career-changers alike
- Room to grow: we promote from within, and many of our Sales, Customer Success, and GTM leaders started as BDRs

- Fully remote: work from anywhere in the U.S. with a team that's 82% engaged
The role
You'll own the top of our sales funnel: finding, qualifying, and starting conversations with school districts through cold calls, email, and LinkedIn. You'll introduce district leaders to the Securly safetyOS™, the gold standard for K-12 digital safety and critical IT infrastructure, and hand qualified opportunities to our Account Executives.
You'll report to the Director of Business Development and work closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and RevOps.
What you'll do:
- Reach out: run high-volume, multi-touch outreach by phone, email, and LinkedIn to K-12 decision-makers
- Qualify: assess inbound and outbound leads for interest, urgency, and fit
- Tell the story: share outcomes, customer stories, and market data that show why safetyOS matters
- Handle objections: listen first and tailor each conversation to what the district cares about
- Keep it clean: track your work in Salesforce and Outreach.io, using GovSpend and AI Gems for research
- Hand off well: pass qualified meetings to Sales smoothly, in partnership with Marketing and RevOps
- Keep improving: use coaching, data, and your peers to get sharper every week
What success looks like
You'll get a structured ramp with coaching at every stage. The milestones below show what the work typically looks like as you build up.

- Start daily outreach: typically 50–100 calls and 50–200 emails
- Research your territory and add new prospects to Salesforce every week
Days 60–90
- Hold 10–25+ meaningful conversations a week with K-12 decision-makers, such as Directors of Technology, IT leaders, superintendents, and district and school administrators
- Book qualified meetings consistently each month as your pipeline builds
- Create 8–15+ new sales opportunities a month
By the 6-month mark
- Run and sharpen outbound prospecting across phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Use coaching, peer feedback, and your own metrics to keep improving
12 months
- Consistently meet or exceed your pipeline ($) and quota goals
- Share what works and help onboard new BDRs
- Start mapping your next step toward AE or another role in Sales, Customer Success, or adjacent teams
Milestones are typical examples, not fixed requirements. Specific goals are set by your manager and may change based on territory, season, and business needs.
Who we're looking for
Great backgrounds for this role include:
- Early-career sales: you've worked as an SDR/BDR or in another high-activity outbound role and want to grow in K-12 EdTech. SaaS or EdTech experience is preferred.
- K-12 educators moving into sales: you're a teacher or school staff member who wants to learn sales and has done sales or sales-like work, ideally with high-volume phone outreach.
Whatever your background, you'll bring:
- Comfort with high-volume phone calls and outreach, and the drive to keep going after a no
- Active listening and the ability to ask good questions to engage and qualify prospects
- The organization to manage a daily cadence and keep clean records (Salesforce and Outreach.io experience is a plus)
- Curiosity to research prospects and personalize your outreach
- K-12 education and/or EdTech experience, strongly preferred
What sets you apart:
- Communication: clear, confident, and adaptive, both verbal and written
- Growth mindset: you're coachable and treat every call as a chance to get better
- Prioritization: strong time management and focus on what moves pipeline
- Rapport: the ability to build trust with IT leaders and K-12 educators
- AI fluency: comfort using AI tools to research prospects and personalize outreach
- Mission: a passion for student safety and wellness
Don't check every box? Apply anyway. If you have the drive and the core skills, we want to hear from you.
A realistic look at the job
This is a high-volume, phone-first role. Most days are a steady rhythm of calls, emails, and LinkedIn touches, and many of those won't connect or will end in a no. The reps who thrive here treat that as part of the game, track their numbers, and use coaching to get a little sharper every week. When it clicks, you're booking meetings with district leaders who make decisions about keeping students safe.
This role is fully remote and U.S.-based, No Travel, not offering Visa sponsorship
Where this role leads
We promote from within, and many of our Sales, Customer Success, and GTM leaders started as BDRs. From here, the typical path is Account Executive, with options in Customer Success and other adjacent teams.
Compensation and benefits
Total compensation: $60,000 base + $30,000 variable = $90,000 OTE
- Top-tier medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Unlimited PTO plus a paid year-end shutdown
- 12 weeks of paid parental leave
- Free 24/7 confidential mental health counseling and wellness tools
- $1,000 annual learning stipend
- Structured onboarding and ongoing coaching
