This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Director - Business Development based in United States.
This is a strategic business development role focused on expanding pharmacy and healthcare partnerships across the 340B ecosystem. You will build relationships with Covered Entities and healthcare organizations while driving adoption of specialized behavioral health pharmacy services. The role combines consultative selling, field-based relationship development, account growth, and healthcare industry expertise. You will engage directly with hospital systems, federally qualified health centers, rural health centers, clinics, and other eligible organizations. Success will depend on your ability to build trust with healthcare leaders, identify opportunities, and turn relationships into long-term partnerships. This is a multi-state territory offering significant autonomy, travel, and the opportunity to contribute to improved medication access and patient outcomes.
Identify, engage, and develop relationships with 340B Covered Entities and healthcare organizations to establish new pharmacy partnerships and expand market presence across the assigned territory.
Develop and execute business development strategies that increase 340B pharmacy relationships, prescription volume, and service adoption among both prospective and existing partners.
Serve as a trusted strategic partner to healthcare organizations by understanding their operational needs, demonstrating value, and developing mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
Build relationships with hospital systems, federally qualified health centers, FQHC look-alikes, rural health centers, STD clinics, behavioral health organizations, and other relevant Covered Entities.
Represent the organization at national and regional 340B conferences while participating in state and local industry organizations to strengthen relationships and stay current on market developments.
Maintain strong relationships with prescribers, clinic staff, and healthcare stakeholders through regular in-person engagement and ongoing account development.
Act as the primary liaison between the organization and provider offices during onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition from initial sale to ongoing account support.
Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate account implementation, support successful handoffs, and address customer needs throughout the partnership lifecycle.
Monitor prescription and account volume on a monthly basis and proactively engage with provider offices when opportunities or issues require attention.
Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably supported by relevant experience in healthcare, pharmacy, sales, or business development.
Bring at least 2 years of business development or sales experience, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, build relationships, and convert prospects into long-term partnerships.
Possess strong presentation, consultative selling, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and credibility with healthcare providers and organizational leaders.
Demonstrate excellent organizational and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships, opportunities, and priorities across a multi-state territory.
Have experience in specialty pharmacy, the 340B industry, behavioral health, or substance use disorder markets; experience selling into these environments is highly valuable.
Be comfortable working in a field-based role that requires regular travel across a multi-state territory and frequent face-to-face engagement with customers and partners.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such as HubSpot, along with the ability to maintain accurate customer and opportunity information.
Have a proven ability to establish, nurture, and sustain long-term relationships with healthcare providers, clinic teams, and other key stakeholders.
Demonstrate strong communication, relationship management, initiative, and commercial judgment, with the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
Competitive base salary of $140,000 USD per year.
