Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own.
We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,700 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. You’ll lead the Sales team serving Airwallex’s new and expansion-market customers across Southeast Asia and South Asia, setting a clear standard for execution, coaching sellers and helping the team turn customer demand into sustainable revenue. You’ll manage day-to-day sales performance across inbound opportunities and account executive activity, helping the team prioritise effectively and progress opportunities through the sales cycle.
Lead, coach and develop a team of sales professionals, setting clear expectations and supporting their progression.
Build a high-performance sales culture focused on customer value, disciplined execution and consistent delivery against commercial goals.
Manage the team’s pipeline, activity and conversion performance, using data and sound judgment to identify opportunities and address risks early.
Partner closely with Sales, Marketing and other commercial teams to improve lead conversion, share customer insight and strengthen the SME & Growth sales motion.
Work directly with customers and sellers on complex opportunities, helping the team position relevant solutions and move deals forward.
Contribute to how the function scales across segments and markets, improving processes and creating a repeatable approach to growth.
You’ll work from our Kuala Lumpur office five days a week.
Required:
Minimally 2 years of experience in managing and leading a sales, business development or similar customer-facing commercial team.
A proven track record of leading, coaching and developing people to deliver against sales targets or commercial KPIs.
Experience managing pipeline performance, prioritising opportunities and maintaining a high standard of execution.
Strong commercial judgment and the ability to use data to make decisions, identify risks and improve team performance.
Confidence in engaging customers and supporting sellers through qualification, solution positioning and opportunity progression.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with Sales, Marketing and cross-functional partners.
Preferred:
Experience in SaaS, fintech, payments or another technology-led B2B environment.
Experience selling to small and medium-sized businesses or supporting an enterprise sales funnel.
Experience building or improving sales processes in a high-growth or scaling environment.
You have a track record of hitting your numbers, and you’re motivated by stretch goals.
You're comfortable operating across time zones with a globally distributed team, including colleagues based in APAC and EMEA.
You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway.
You own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken.
You say what you mean. You're direct, but you lead with respect.
SME & Growth at Airwallex is about more than closing deals. We help small and mid-market businesses solve real financial challenges across borders: getting paid globally, managing multi-currency accounts, paying suppliers, and running spend across markets from a single platform. You're not selling a feature. You're helping founders and finance leaders replace fragmented financial operations with one global system that actually scales.
It's a function for sellers who like to build, not follow a script: curious, resourceful, and comfortable figuring things out in markets that are still wide open. You get real autonomy to create value, build relationships, and move opportunities forward.
If you want to sell a serious product, solve real problems for ambitious businesses, and build your career fast, this is a place to do it.
