Yes, then I would not keep Shooting & Production as a key responsibility. It makes the role sound like you are hiring a videographer + editor. Keep the JD very strongly focused on editing, and mention shooting as a good-to-have.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Video Editor with a strong creative eye and expert-level editing skills. Someone who can take raw footage and turn it into sharp, engaging, high-quality content across formats and platforms.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone with a strong sense of storytelling, pace, music, typography, visual design, and attention to detail. You should be equally comfortable editing a high-energy event film, leadership interview, podcast, keynote, brand film, or short-form social video.

You should be able to take complete ownership of an edit, from understanding the brief and working through raw footage to delivering a polished final output.

Key Responsibilities

Expert Video Editing

• Edit raw footage into polished, high-quality long-form and short-form videos.

• Work across brand films, leadership videos, interviews, podcasts, events, keynotes, employer brand content, social content, and internal communications.

• Bring a strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, transitions, music, sound design, typography, and visual flow.

• Take complete ownership of edits from the first cut to final delivery.

• Work with different types and volumes of raw footage and independently identify the strongest narrative.

Short-form & Social Content

• Turn long-form content into engaging clips for LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, X, and other platforms.

• Identify strong moments, hooks, and soundbites from raw footage.

• Understand current content and editing trends and bring fresh ideas into the work.

• Create captions, supers, graphics, transitions, and other elements required for social-first content.

Motion Graphics & Design

• Create motion graphics, animated typography, titles, lower thirds, intros, outros, and transitions.

• Work confidently with After Effects for animation and motion design.

• Handle basic thumbnail and supporting visual design when required.

Event & Fast-Turnaround Content

• Edit event content including highlights, speaker clips, attendee bytes, session videos, and aftermovies.

• Be comfortable working on quick turnaround timelines, including content that may need to go live on the same day.

• Manage multiple edits simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistency.

Content & Asset Management

• Organise raw footage, project files, exports, versions, and archives.

• Maintain proper backups and ensure files can be easily accessed by the wider team.

• Source appropriate stock footage, music, sound effects, and other creative assets when required.

What We’re Looking For

• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.

• Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects.

• Good working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Strong understanding of colour correction and grading, audio mixing, sound design, codecs, formats, and export settings.

• Excellent sense of storytelling, pacing, composition, typography, and music.

• Strong understanding of both long-form storytelling and fast-paced social-first editing.

• Ability to independently take an edit from raw footage to final delivery.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within brand guidelines.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and tight timelines.

• Up to date with new video formats, editing techniques, social trends, AI-enabled editing tools, and creative workflows.

• Comfortable receiving feedback and quickly translating it into the edit.

Good to Have

• Experience shooting interviews, events, podcasts, leadership content, or social content.

• Understanding of cameras, lighting, framing, audio, microphones, and basic production setups.

• Experience working on event shoots or fast-paced on-ground content.

• Experience working with brands, agencies, production houses, media companies, or creative teams.

Portfolio Requirement

A strong video editing portfolio or showreel is mandatory.

We would especially like to see work across brand films, event films or aftermovies, leadership/interview content, short-form social videos, motion graphics, and long-form content.

More than just technical proficiency, we are looking for someone whose work demonstrates strong creative judgement, storytelling ability, and a high bar for craft and finish.

This keeps the message very clear: we are hiring an expert editor first. If they can shoot too, that’s an advantage, but it isn’t what defines the role.

Why Join Us?

You will contribute to creating disruptive and innovative consumer experiences using technology. We value autonomy, collaboration, technical innovation and results-oriented thinking. InMobi’s culture is all about rewarding excellence so there are fantastic opportunities for the right candidates!
