bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain! We skip the auction and wholesale, to shorten the journey for our flowers. And we harness technology, brand and innovation to deliver gifts and subscriptions that delight our customers across Europe.
We launched in Amsterdam in 2014, and in 2021 joined forces with Bloom & Wild, the UK's fastest growing ecommerce company (according to the Financial Times). Our group is backed by top tier investors and is now home to a family of 3 strong brands, Bloom & Wild, bloomon and Bergamotte. Together, we’ve delivered over 20 million orders (and counting!), making us the largest direct to consumer flower business in Europe.
Our vision is to create the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful. And we won't stop at flowers and plants. Starting with the Bloom & Wild brand, we're expanding our gifting offering to other categories like cakes, candles and cocktails. This is all part of our ambition to build Europe's #1 direct to consumer gifting destination.
We care wildly about people and our planet. Which is why we’re so proud to be a certified B Corp™ – committed to making long-term positive change for our community, and the world around us.
Please note that this role requires fluent Dutch.
🛠️ Our Brand & Range Team @ Bloom & Wild Group
In our business - because our product is our brand - we have brought together the teams who work on our physical product and brand marketing. We call ourselves Brand & Range and we’re a small core group of six across various functional areas: brand, range, merchandising, and floral design & styling. We are responsible for our global product and brand strategy, and work with teams across the business to bring these to life.
The Brand team is very close to the Creative team and we create most content in-house. We use customer insight and creative boldness to build recognisable, standout brand experiences for our customers and constantly challenge ourselves to do better. We collaborate closely with Customer Insight to inform our thinking, with the Commercial & Marketing teams to make sure our plans resonate in their local markets, and with our Digital Product and Design teams on our website and app.
We’re passionate about who we are as a brand and we love seeing bloomon grow, so we work at a fast pace, pouring thought and consideration into everything we do.
⚙️ What you'll be doing:
Working in a small team means that every role has a broad scope and lots of responsibilities. Our brand manager is responsible for everything brand: evergreen and peak campaigns, lifestyle shoots, activations in our core markets, a super strong social media presence with maximised engagement, and PR when it matters. For social media and PR we have flexible support.
We are looking for a senior brand manager to lead the function, spanning these specialisms of social media, PR, and campaign and production management. You'll also be a valued partner to our Creative Lead in developing our brand communications and you will use excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills to work closely with our other stakeholders.
-
You’ll be a go-to brand voice and guardian alongside our Creative Lead and Brand & Range Director, continually ensuring that output is on brand and meets the objectives of the brief.
-
You’ll lead on brand strategy, execution and bigger brand projects, and will collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams on projects related to other marketing channels. These plans are developed in line with our business goals and team priorities.
-
You’ll own and manage the brand calendar and campaigns, and plan ahead to keep the content machine moving, clearly communicating business priorities to the creative team in a timely fashion.
-
You’ll develop insight-led and inspiring creative briefs with clear business objectives for peak campaigns. You’ll work with the creative team to shape creative development to meet objectives, building targeted brand activations that deliver measurable results.
-
You’ll adopt a test and learn mentality across campaigns, ensuring continual optimisation. You’ll spot opportunities for improvement and design measurable tests alongside other teams as relevant.
-
You’ll be working with stakeholders from across the business to shape, iterate, execute and report on activity. Campaigns will vary from seasonal themes - led by the marketing team - to brand campaigns supporting key commercial moments.
-
You’ll be responsible for creative production of lifestyle shoots and other brand campaigns and projects. In this part of the role you ensure delivery to brief, deadline and budget.
-
You’ll lead on execution of our CSR initiatives including sustainability and charitable giving. You’ll ensure these initiatives are clearly communicated to customers across touch points, as a key driver of brand consideration.
-
You’ll work with freelance and agency capacity for social media and PR in our core markets.
✅ You’ll love this role if you…
-
You like to have a broad set of responsibilities and are interested in making measurable impact with limited budget and resources (ie. you are creative to work with what you know and what you have)
-
You have a tactical mindset, strong commercial view and a flair for creativity. You’re results-focused, comfortable with setting and measuring KPIs across your team’s work.
-
You have a good understanding of brand communications and wider media culture to back up your recommendations and decisions. You actively search out great brand communications and will come with strong references and refreshing ideas.
-
You work at pace on your own projects and feel comfortable working with freelancers and external parties. You’re comfortable guiding, evaluating, and if necessary, redirecting their work and will get stuck in wherever it’s needed.
-
You’re a confident project manager, able to assemble and lead cross-functional teams to keep complex projects on track and deliver against targets. You’re a strong collaborator and have experience working with other marketing teams and channels.
-
You’re a creative problem solver who is solutions orientated and raises issues or unexpected problems early to ensure success.
-
You’re confident and clear in presenting your work to your peers and (senior) stakeholders, and can tailor your communication to different audiences.
✅ You will have:
-
4-6 years of experience in a brand or marketing role - ideally at a fast growing start-up or brand focussed business
-
Ideally, experience working on ecommerce or D2C brands
-
Experience with agencies / freelancers
-
Experience owning and project managing complex cross-functional projects from ideation to execution
-
Experience across as many brand touchpoints as possible, including physical product and social media
-
Experience working collaboratively with creative teams to create work that is inspiring, engaging and delivers results
- Speaks fluent Dutch.
These are some of the skills and experience we think will enable success in this role, but please don’t worry if you are missing some of these. We’re committed to building a team made up of different strengths, skills and experiences, so if you’re excited about our values, passionate about what you do and would like to join us in doing things more thoughtfully, we’d love to hear from you.
🏡 Belonging at Bloom & Wild Group
We know that we learn through our differences, and building a diverse team has always been central to creating the best experience for our customers. We value all backgrounds, perspectives, ideas and experiences, and encourage everyone to share their opinions openly within our caring and inclusive team.
🧭 Our ways of working
We do things a little bit differently. From inventing letterbox flowers to founding The Thoughtful Marketing Movement. We’re big on collaboration, empathy, knowledge sharing and growth, and our values drive our priorities every day:
Lead change for good: we have the guts to try new things and step up to do what matters most
Think deeply, act swiftly: we make sure there’s thoughtful rationale behind our approach and always act swiftly to implement ideas
Care wildly: we pour care and creativity into everything we do and pay attention to the things that make a difference
Stay open, be curious: we’re open about what we’re doing and why, and we welcome challenges from each other
We really believe in the power of face-to-face connections - be that through a shared project, a learning and development opportunity, or an after work social - and trust our teams to make the right decisions (for them and us) about where and how they work each day. Our working patterns are flexible and vary across the business, depending on the type of work, need for collaboration, and personal and wellbeing circumstances.
