About Tin Can
Tin Can is building a safer, simpler way for kids to connect without smartphones. We’re creating screen-free, delightful devices and services that let families call the people who matter most, free from the noise of today’s digital world.
We’re building a bold, authentic, nostalgic, and kinda quirky brand that resonates with folks who want something simpler & better for their kids than the tech-infused lives we’re currently living (and who have a sense of humor about it).
The Role
A brand isn’t only what families see in their feeds. It’s every place a family runs into Tin Can, and every one of those moments should feel like the same warm, quirky brand. As we grow, those moments are multiplying, and keeping them connected matters more than ever. As our Senior Brand Marketing Manager, you’ll own the programmatic brand initiatives and partnerships that bring Tin Can to more families. You’ll also run the operating rhythm that keeps the whole brand team moving.
You’ll report to our Head of Brand Strategy & Communications and act as the connective tissue between Brand, Growth, Communities and Product. This is less a lane than a way of operating. You’ll take an idea that lives on a slide, turn it into a plan with owners and dates, and carry it through to launch. You’ll be the person who knows where every workstream stands, what’s blocking it, and who needs to hear about it before anyone has to ask.
What You’ll Do
Own our brand initiatives end to end, from national partnerships and community programs to experiential moments and recurring content.
Run the brand team’s operating rhythm: annual and quarterly planning, timelines, budget tracking, and the brand section of our monthly business review
Work closely with our Brand Marketing Manager to divide and conquer brand initiatives, from first conversation to launch.
Build the trackers, briefs, and status updates that keep all departments aligned and on the same page
Coordinate agencies, production partners, and vendors, keeping scopes, deliverables, and spend on track
Partner with our Communities team to turn national programs into local moments families can actually show up to
Write the creative and program briefs that give each initiative a clear strategic foundation before it goes into production
Set success metrics up front and own post-program reporting, including what worked, what didn’t, and what we’ll do differently next time
Steward Tin Can’s brand standards across every program, so a family’s fiftieth encounter with us feels as considered as their first
What We’re Looking For
6–8 years of marketing, program management, or brand operations experience, ideally at a consumer brand, DTC startup, or agency with consumer clients
You’ve owned multiple workstreams at once from brief to launch; programs with lots of partners, locations, or moving parts are your comfort zone
Rigorous with budgets and timelines; you build the tracker, set the deadline, and follow up without being asked
Experience running brand partnerships or experiential programs; you know how to move a conversation from “this could be fun” to a signed plan
A clear, concise communicator in writing and in the room; your status update is the one people actually read
Strong brand instincts; you can tell when something feels like Tin Can and when it doesn’t
Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action; the playbook is still being written, and you see that as an opportunity, not a problem
Low-ego and collaborative; you build trust across teams, share credit, and pitch in on problems that aren’t yours
Why Join Tin Can
We’re building tech that protects childhood: We’re on a quest to give kids real connection. This is a rare opportunity to build something that truly matters.
You’ll turn big plans into real-world presence: You’ll make sure every program we run happens on time, connects with families, and adds up to one brand.
Small, high-trust team: Every company says “team,” but at Tin Can it means something different. We’re a small, mission-driven group that genuinely has each other’s backs, professionally and personally. You’ll be joining a tight-knit crew where your ideas and instincts matter from day one. This role is hybrid, based out of our Seattle office.
Room to explore, not just execute: You’ll have the space to explore new ideas, challenge assumptions, and solve hard problems with creative solutions that reflect our values of trust, simplicity, and care.
If you’re excited by the idea of bringing the magic of a phone call into the places families already gather, please reach out. We can’t wait to meet someone who’s ready to jump in, keep every program on track, and help us grow.
