Job Description
Visa Consulting & Analytics is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.
The VCA team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Australia and New Zealand, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.
Typical projects may include:
How can a financial institution accelerate growth in cards and payments?
How should a client use emerging technology and digital capability to acquire, engage and retain the right customers?
How can a client optimise product propositions, customer journeys and economics at the same time?
How can a client take a new concept from opportunity identification through to business case, proposition design and implementation roadmap?
This role will be within the The Consulting Delivery Team which helps clients shape and execute customer-centred digital strategies, propositions and product experiences that drive measurable commercial and customer outcomes. We work at the intersection of strategy, design and technology, partnering closely with Visa product, technology and client teams to bring ideas to market in a commercially viable way.
About the role:
As a Consulting Senior Manager you will lead consulting engagements that help clients identify growth opportunities, define customer-centred strategies, and design digital products and experiences that are commercially viable and executable.
You will work with senior client stakeholders and cross-functional Visa teams to shape problem statements, frame opportunities, develop business cases, and translate insight into practical recommendations and implementation pathways. You will be expected to bring the best of consulting rigour and strategic design, using customer insight, market context and commercial judgement to help clients make better decisions and move from ambition to action.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Practice Lead in Melbourne, you will play a key role in both client delivery and practice growth. This includes leading workstreams and engagements, contributing to proposals and scoping, identifying follow-on opportunities, and helping build repeatable consulting offers and thought leadership for the practice.
This role will suit someone who is equally comfortable in the boardroom, in a client working session, and in the detail of problem solving. You should be able to move fluidly between strategy, customer insight, proposition development, experience design and commercial decision-making.
Key responsibilities:
Lead consulting engagements from problem definition through to recommendation, client alignment and implementation planning
Shape strategic and commercially grounded recommendations that connect customer needs, business outcomes and delivery feasibility
Work with clients to identify growth opportunities across digital experience, proposition design, portfolio performance and product innovation
Translate research, data and market insight into clear implications, business cases and decision-ready narratives
Facilitate workshops and client discussions that create alignment, pressure-test ideas and accelerate decision-making
Develop proposals, scopes of work and engagement approaches that respond to client needs and support practice growth
Identify opportunities to extend existing engagements and contribute to building a healthy pipeline for the practice
Partner with colleagues across consulting, product, data, technology and client account teams to deliver integrated solutions
Build scalable methods, toolkits and reusable assets that strengthen the Digital & Product Experience Design practice
Coach junior team members and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative consulting culture

Qualifications
We are looking for a commercially minded consultant with strong digital, product and customer experience capability, and a proven ability to lead structured problem solving in complex client environments.
The ideal candidate will bring:
Strong experience in strategy or management consulting, digital advisory, product strategy, service design, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience leading client engagements and managing workstreams end-to-end.
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect customer and design decisions to business performance, growth and return on investment.
Experience shaping proposals, engagement scopes, or business development opportunities.
Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and compelling storylines, presentations and recommendations.
Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions in a matrixed environment.
Experience using customer research, market analysis and data to inform strategy and recommendation development.
A practical understanding of digital product development, proposition design and go-to-market considerations.
Strong collaboration and leadership skills, including the ability to work effectively across consulting, product and technology teams.
Curiosity about payments, banking, digital commerce and emerging technology.
