Senior Commercial Performance Manager

Package: £63,270 to £85k (depending on experience)

Location: Reading, with free onsite parking.

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. This role is eligible for hybrid working, meaning employees typically spend three days on site in a long week and two days on site in a short week. We support flexible working where possible, including part-time and varied working hours, so please let us know if you would like us to consider an alternative working arrangement when you apply.

The Senior Commercial Performance Manager is accountable for ensuring Commercial functional performance is measured and reported, accurately reflecting Commercial’s role in supporting delivery of the AWE Business Plan. They will ensure functional performance is visible and key information made available to Commercial leadership and the AWE executive team to keep Commercial accountable for its performance, highlighting opportunities, issues and challenges in delivery of the Commercial functional strategy which supports the delivery of AWE’s mission.   

This role will report into the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager.   

Key Accountabilities:  

• Leading the team to develop the cadence for Commercial functional and leadership reporting and providing ad hoc reporting support, coordinating all inputs and providing strategic narrative. 

• Actively monitors performance against the Commercial functional strategy, identifying opportunities to improve, challenges and remedial options. 

• Accountable for ensuring accurate Commercial pipeline reporting to support effective planning, external reporting and prioritisation. 

• Accountable for establishing and maintaining the Commercial reporting framework for key programmes and projects critical to the delivery of AWE’s mission. 

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:

• Compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.  

• Must have proven professional experience. 

• Experience of working in a Procurement / Commercial function.   

• Experience of designing or managing commercial performance frameworks.  

• Experience with supporting senior stakeholders and engaging up to C-suite level.   

• Experience in working cross functionally and being able to report and draw insights cross functionally to understand one clear view of performance. 

• A natural analytical thinker with ability to align business priorities to commercial outcomes. 

• Data analysis and storytelling skills. 

• Comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and changing priorities. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
