JOB PURPOSE

This role is part of our Experience & Engineering team. We combine our skills in developing future-ready technical solutions with our expertise in creating beautiful designs to deliver exceptional and engaging digital experiences that build lasting relationships with our clients like Gant, Inter Milan, bol.com and Just Eat Takeaway.

We’re looking for someone who can help clients unlock their digital potential and drive long-term success through well-crafted, multi-year strategies. In this role, you’ll bring together cross-functional expertise to define the optimal commerce strategy tailored to each client’s unique needs. You’ll shape the “north star” vision for commerce across various industries, translating high-level business goals into actionable roadmaps, backlogs, and clear, strategic briefs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development of digital commerce strategies that help global brands grow, transform, and stay ahead
• Shape strategic direction through user research, insight synthesis, and smart application of frameworks
• Design and facilitate workshops that energize teams and unlock clarity for clients
• Own the strategic narrative, guiding clients, creatives and developers from challenge to solution
• Champion user needs while keeping business impact in view
• Collaborate across disciplines to make sure strategy isn’t just a deck, but that it’s embedded in the work we make (e.g. experience briefs for UX/UI)
• Build strategic partnerships with clients and help win new work.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Have agency or consultancy experience and you’re ready to lead from the middle
• Are comfortable owning client relationships and guiding project teams
• Know how to simplify the complex and communicate your thinking with confidence
• Have a strong grasp of commerce, from owned platforms and products to brand experiences, distributed commerce channels and emerging tech
• Connect research to opportunity, and opportunity to outcome
• Are collaborative, adaptable, and bring creative energy to every challenge.
• Working proficiency in English and Dutch or Danish language

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

• Projects that stretch your strategic muscles, from quick wins to long-term transformation
• Clients who trust you to lead and invite you to challenge
• A role that gives you autonomy, impact and the support to grow
• A diverse team of smart, kind people who love what they do
• Access to personal coaching, development planning and professional learning budgets.

WE OFFER

• A flexible, hybrid working policy (2-3 days from the office, depending on location)
• DEPT®/YOU Learning Menu and DEPT®/YOU Special Programs. Develop your skills with courses and programs tailored to your needs.
• Stay happy and healthy with a contribution to your health through the OpenUp platform, gym and wellness discounts, and healthy lunches at the office.
• A reputation for doing good. DEPT® has been a Certified B Corp® since 2021, has been named a Great Place To Work since 2022 in the Netherlands and named ‘Agency of the Year’ at both The Lovies and The Webby Awards.
• Awesome clients. Whether big, small, local or global — at DEPT® you’ll get the opportunity to work with all of them. And we celebrate all of our successes together!

WHY DEPT®?

We are a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.

We are drawn to people who stay curious, move with intent, and never stop inventing. Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.

At DEPT®, you will find the freedom to explore, the space to collaborate, and the trust to make a real impact for our clients, for each other, and for the world we are helping to build.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

At DEPT®, we take pride in creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive. We actively seek to recruit, develop, nurture, and retain talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, with varying skills and perspectives.

Not sure you meet all qualifications? Apply, and let us decide! Research shows that women and members of underrepresented groups tend not to apply for jobs when they think they may not meet every requirement, when in fact they do. We believe in giving everyone a fair chance to shine.

We also encourage you to reach out to us and discuss any reasonable adjustments we can make to support you throughout the recruitment process and your time with us.
