About Us

TogetherWork is a $250M recurring revenue SaaS business with over 33 software applications serving 12+ vertical markets. We exist to help communities, organizations, and businesses thrive by delivering software solutions tailored to their unique needs. With our new headquarters on South Congress in Austin, TX, we are entering an exciting phase of growth. We work hard and play hard. We love our customers, we innovate with purpose, and we won’t stop until we’ve delighted every client across the diverse ecosystem we serve.

About This Role

TogetherWork is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with at least 7+ years of experience to help design, build, and maintain high-quality SaaS applications on a modern technology stack. You will own features end-to-end — from front-end to back-end to the databases underneath — ensuring seamless integration across the stack and secure, scalable code running on AWS. This is a full-ownership engineering role: you will take features from design through production, mentor junior-level engineers, and help set the technical bar for the team. You will partner closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, and with fellow engineers to share best practices and improve how the team builds software. This role is best suited to an engineer who wants to own meaningful pieces of the platform end-to-end rather than work in a narrow slice of the stack alone.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain features for our SaaS applications
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code that’s reusable and scalable
• Mentor junior-level engineers within the team
• Participate in code reviews – learn & implement best practices to improve code quality
• Develop and maintain front-end and back-end components of applications
• Collaborate with Product Managers to understand requirements
• Leverage industry-standard development tools, integrated development environments (IDEs), and AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity and code quality
• Collaborate with Product Owners to refine requirements, including non-functional ones
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across non-production and production environments
• AI-Augmented Development. Use approved AI tools as active tools in your daily workflow to accelerate coding. Evaluate AI-generated code critically and refine it for production readiness.
• Security & Authorization. Implement secure authentication and authorization flows for embedded reporting (e.g., token-based access, signed URLs, role-based permissions). Ensure proper handling of keys, tokens, and sensitive data in compliance with security best practices.
• Quality and Stability. Implement monitoring, logging, and testing strategies to ensure reporting reliability. Use feature flags and safe deployment practices to roll out reporting features incrementally without disrupting users.

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of professional experience as a full stack software engineer
• Proven track record of owning features end-to-end, from design through production, rather than working a narrow slice of the stack alone
• Strong ability to learn and adopt new platforms and tools
• Ability to explain complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who takes initiative and performs well with limited direction
• Success-driven, collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
• Coachable, resilient, and comfortable receiving direct feedback
• Backend Development: Strong knowledge of C#, VB, and modern .NET, including ASP.NET Core; experience designing, developing, and consuming APIs (GraphQL a plus); strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean code practices; experience with Entity Framework Core (EF Core) and data access patterns; understanding of modern authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, and role/claims-based authorization; familiarity with dependency injection, middleware, configuration, logging, exception handling, and asynchronous programming in .NET; experience writing unit and integration tests
• Frontend Development: Strong hands-on experience with modern React and TypeScript; strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, jQuery, and CSS; experience with React Hooks, functional components, component composition, and state management; experience building responsive, accessible, reusable, and maintainable UI components; experience integrating React applications with GraphQL APIs; understanding of routing, form handling, API integration, authentication, error handling, caching, and client-side state management; familiarity with modern frontend tooling such as npm and testing frameworks
• Database: Strong knowledge of SQL Server and/or AWS RDS MySQL 8.x; experience writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and transactions; strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, relationships, constraints, and indexes; experience with query performance analysis and database optimization; understanding of database migrations, concurrency, transactions, and data integrity
• Development & DevOps: Proficiency with Git and modern source-control workflows, including pull requests and code reviews; experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment processes; familiarity with Docker and containerized applications; experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred); understanding of application logging, monitoring, debugging, and production troubleshooting; familiarity with secure coding practices and OWASP security principles
• Additional: Good understanding of Agile/Scrum software development processes; strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills; ability to participate effectively in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions; commitment to continuous learning and staying current with modern software development practices; proven experience using AI tooling daily for AI-native development

Success Measures

• Timely delivery of assigned development tasks, with increasing independence
• Code quality and adherence to standards; passes peer review with minimal rework
• Proactively seeks help when stuck and adapts quickly from feedback provided
• Defect resolution time and accuracy; understands the “why” and avoids recurrence
• Collaboration and contribution to team goals
• Contributes to the success of junior-level developers within the team

Challenge: Own the full stack, from React front-end to .NET back-end to the databases underneath, and help harden security, performance, and reliability as the platform scales.
