Senior Integration Engineer - C#, APIs & Enterprise Systems

Accountabilities:

Own the end-to-end delivery of enterprise integration projects, from requirements gathering and technical design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend integration solutions using C# and .NET.
Connect enterprise applications and business platforms, including ERP, financial management, and document management systems.
Build integrations using REST APIs, SOAP services, middleware platforms, webhooks, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures.
Implement synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns, including Kafka-based event processing.
Develop data mapping, transformation, and orchestration processes to ensure accurate and consistent information exchange between systems.
Create reusable integration components, frameworks, and architectural patterns to simplify future integration projects.
Design reliable integration workflows with appropriate error handling, retry mechanisms, logging, monitoring, and recovery strategies.
Investigate integration failures across multiple systems, identify root causes, and implement sustainable technical solutions.
Ensure integrations can handle duplicate messages, unexpected data formats, temporary service interruptions, and other production challenges.
Develop and maintain automated tests covering APIs, integration workflows, and end-to-end scenarios.
Manage deployments across development, testing, and production environments while following established engineering and quality standards.
Monitor production integrations and continuously improve their reliability, scalability, and performance.
Work directly with customers to understand their technical environments, business processes, and integration requirements.
Participate in technical meetings, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Troubleshoot customer-reported issues, communicate progress, and explain technical challenges and proposed solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineering, implementation, quality assurance, and customer-facing teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, enterprise integration, or a similar technical role.
Proven experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting integrations between enterprise applications.
Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture, middleware technologies, and common integration design patterns.
Advanced hands-on proficiency in C# and .NET, with experience developing and maintaining production-grade software solutions.
Solid experience designing, developing, and implementing RESTful APIs.
Practical experience with REST APIs, SOAP services, webhooks, and messaging systems.
Good understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and distributed system communication.
Experience implementing data mapping, transformation, orchestration, and error recovery mechanisms.
Knowledge of API authentication and security standards, particularly OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
Familiarity with automated testing, API testing, version control, and CI/CD practices.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues involving multiple applications and services.
Experience supporting production systems, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes.
Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of technical deliverables from conception to completion.
Excellent communication skills, particularly when explaining technical concepts, issues, and solutions to customers.
Confidence participating in customer-facing technical meetings and collaborating with stakeholders from different business and technical backgrounds.
A collaborative and proactive mindset, with the flexibility to work across engineering, implementation, QA, and business teams.
Location requirement: Must be physically based in Brazil.

Experience with Workato or other enterprise Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) solutions.
Knowledge of Kafka or similar event-streaming and messaging technologies.
Experience with AWS services, particularly API Gateway, Lambda, and IAM.
Familiarity with enterprise ERP platforms such as SAP and Oracle.
Experience with ETL processes, data integration pipelines, and enterprise data management.
Familiarity with development and collaboration tools such as GitLab, Postman, pytest, and Jira.
Previous exposure to construction technology, capital project management, or project controls software.
Experience working with OpenAPI specifications and enterprise API documentation.
Previous experience with Workato is not mandatory. Strong integration engineering fundamentals, C# expertise, and the ability to learn new technologies are the key priorities.
