Senior Manager, Communications

A Snapshot 

The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications will lead day-to-day and proactive communications across Singapore, Malaysia and India. 

Based in Singapore or Malaysia (Johor Bahru/Kuala Lumpur), the role will translate AirTrunk’s corporate communications strategy into market-level activity, building stakeholder confidence, strengthening executive visibility and supporting the company’s growth across the region. 

The role will work across media, social and internal channels and partner closely with regional leadership, Corporate Affairs, development, operations, energy and sustainability, commercial and people teams. 

This is a hands-on role for an experienced communications professional who can develop strategy, write high-quality content, manage issues and build trusted relationships with media, government, industry and community stakeholders. 

 

Your Day to Day 

• Strategy and planning: Translate the global communications strategy into quarterly market plans, maintain the regional runway, identify emerging issues and opportunities, and align and repurpose communications across Singapore, Malaysia and India. 

• Corporate narrative and messaging: Adapt and maintain AirTrunk’s regional narrative, message house, Q&As, proof points and briefing materials, ensuring consistency across markets, spokespeople and channels as priorities evolve. 

• Executive and leadership communications 
  Support executive positioning across the region by identifying opportunities and preparing speeches, talking points, media briefs, interviews, LinkedIn content and training. 

• Media relations: Build priority media relationships, develop narrative-by-outlet plans, pursue proactive opportunities and manage pitches, briefings, outreach, embargoes, spokespeople and agency coordination. 

• Thought leadership, campaigns and content: Develop campaigns and high-quality content that explain AirTrunk’s role in digital infrastructure and demonstrate its contribution to local skills, suppliers, communities, energy infrastructure and economic growth. 

• Issues and crisis communications: Monitor emerging issues, prepare response materials and crisis scenarios, advise regional leaders on reputational risks and coordinate timely, factual and consistent responses. 

• Social and internal communications: Manage regional corporate and executive social calendars, develop content and case studies from across the business, and support internal communications that connect employees to regional priorities and AirTrunk’s reputation. 

 

What success looks like 

• Regional executives are better prepared and more visible on priority issues and themes.  

• AirTrunk has stronger relationships with priority media and external stakeholders.  

• Communications activity is increasingly proactive, with campaigns, thought leadership and executive positioning complementing announcements and reactive work.  

• Emerging issues are identified early and managed with clear, consistent advice.  

• AirTrunk’s narrative is understood and consistently represented across markets and channels.  

• Communications demonstrate AirTrunk’s contribution to digital infrastructure, local economies, communities, skills and supply chains.  

• Regional activity delivers measurable improvements in reach, engagement, sentiment, share of voice and stakeholder confidence.  

 

Requirements

• 12+ corporate communications experience.  

• Experience working across Southeast Asia, ideally Singapore and Malaysia, with an understanding of the Indian market.  

• Strong writing and editing skills across media, executive, social and internal communications.  

• Experience advising senior executives and preparing them for media, speaking and stakeholder engagements.  

• Experience developing proactive campaigns and thought leadership, not only managing announcements.  

• Strong judgement in handling complex, sensitive or fast-moving issues.  

• Ability to understand complex technical, infrastructure, energy or policy issues and explain them clearly.  

• Experience managing agencies and working across a regional or matrixed organisation.  

• Strong stakeholder and relationship-building skills.  

• Cultural awareness and the ability to adapt communications to different markets.  

• A practical, collaborative and hands-on approach.
