This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager - Data Centre Infrastructure Delivery based in India.
This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on delivering mission-critical data centre infrastructure from design through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
You will oversee complex multidisciplinary programmes spanning civil and structural works, electrical infrastructure, power systems, HVAC, cooling, and integrated technologies.
The role requires strong ownership of project execution, contractor management, quality, safety, commissioning, and operational readiness.
You will help ensure facilities achieve high levels of resilience, redundancy, efficiency, and compliance with leading data centre standards.
The position combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical leadership across the complete infrastructure delivery lifecycle.
You will collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, technology partners, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance facilities.
This role is particularly suited to an experienced data centre professional with extensive mission-critical project delivery experience and strong multidisciplinary expertise.
Accountabilities
- Lead the planning, design review, construction, commissioning, and handover of data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Oversee civil, structural, architectural, and site development activities, ensuring projects meet technical, quality, safety, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Manage EPC contractors and other delivery partners while maintaining strong governance over project execution, quality assurance, health and safety, and construction performance.
- Lead electrical infrastructure delivery, including substations, medium- and low-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and power distribution networks.
- Ensure power infrastructure delivers the required redundancy, resilience, and operational availability in line with Tier III/Tier IV requirements.
- Manage testing, commissioning, integrated testing, and operational-readiness activities across critical infrastructure systems.
- Oversee HVAC and cooling infrastructure, including chilled water, DX, CRAH/CRAC, precision cooling, hot/cold aisle containment, and thermal optimisation solutions.
- Coordinate the integration of cooling infrastructure with BMS and energy management platforms to support efficient and reliable operations.
- Lead coordination of ELV, SCADA, DCIM, digital monitoring, and other smart-building or system-integration technologies.
- Drive integrated system testing and commissioning to ensure that interconnected infrastructure operates as designed.
- Identify and resolve delivery risks, technical issues, and interface challenges across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Where applicable, support the delivery of modular or containerized data centre solutions.
Requirements
- 12–15+ years of professional experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, or similarly complex infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience managing the complete data centre lifecycle from design and construction through commissioning and handover.
- Strong technical expertise across civil and structural construction, electrical infrastructure, HVAC and cooling systems, EPC project delivery, and testing and commissioning.
- Demonstrated experience with substations, MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, and resilient power architectures.
- Strong understanding of critical cooling technologies, including chilled water, DX, CRAH/CRAC, precision cooling, thermal optimisation, and aisle containment.
- Working knowledge of ELV systems, BMS, SCADA, DCIM, digital monitoring, and integrated system technologies.
- Familiarity with Tier III/Tier IV, TIA-942, ASHRAE, and Uptime Institute standards and requirements.
- Strong project leadership, contractor management, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple technical workstreams while maintaining focus on safety, quality, schedule, and operational readiness.
- Strong understanding of commissioning methodologies and integrated testing for mission-critical environments.
- Experience delivering data centre projects in the Middle East is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong communication, leadership, decision-making, and negotiation skills suitable for senior-level project environments.
