The Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for providing technical knowledge to the Maintenance Execution organization and to the Technical Asset Manager of the organization being supported.
Major Responsibilities
Monitors daily maintenance activities; ensures compliance with safety and engineering standards
Responsible for timely job completion as agreed on in RBWS; monitors area backlog, notifications, and work orders in SAP
Provide subject matter expertise in the area of specific asset types (e.g. piping, pumps) or maintenance methodologies (e.g.lubrication, flange mgt.). Support the planning, maintenance execution organization, and asset owners in this capacity
Evaluate equipment failures, and provide information to Asset Engineers for defect elimination activities. Take corrective actions when failures are deemed to be caused by maintenance processes.
Responsible for monthly reporting of major jobs and repairs, costs, achievements, and safety incidents
Closely collaborate with Asset Engineers to jointly improve the asset performance by becoming a "Learning Organization”
Closely collaborate with Asset Engineers in Asset Strategy optimization
Makes decisions with designated assignments. Produces anticipated results to business or technical goals with supervision of results. Shows proven competency in the application and decision-making in those work processes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related degree with at least 6 years’ experience OR Master’s in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related degree with at least 4 years’ experience
The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe
Preferred Qualifications
Rotational assignment in job function or area of responsibility
Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification
SAP-FAM competence
Knowledge & Skills:
Sound knowledge of rotating and static equipment used in chemical processing
Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills and troubleshooting methodologies
Understanding of general Maintenance Procedures/Work processes (i.e. Planning, Scheduling, Execution)
Sound knowledge of repair methods and techniques, and best practices (including but not limited to vessel and pipe repair, pump maintenance, lifting techniques, and welding)
Knowledgeable in work planning and management for work involving toxic chemicals (i.e. Phosgene CO, Cl2, and NH3.)
Ability to ensure application and compliance with HSEQ policies and procedures while performing engineering activities.
Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills. Ability to communicate effectively within the organization, with site management, and externally
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability lead ad hoc teams and manage project level maintenance activities
