As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you are a results‑driven, customer‑focused technical leader responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of Blackbaud’s enterprise Oracle database platforms. You bring a strong sense of ownership and accountability, delivering outcomes that support both operational excellence and customer commitments while helping power the work of purpose‑driven organisations.
• Deliver reliable and secure Oracle database services by owning day‑to‑day operations, availability, and performance across production environments.
• Improve scalability and resilience by installing, upgrading, patching, and managing Oracle databases using automation‑first approaches.
• Protect critical data by executing and validating backup, recovery, replication, and high‑availability strategies.
• Partner with application and cloud teams to optimise performance, support migrations, and ensure operational readiness for new and existing solutions.
• Monitor database health and capacity using industry‑standard tools, proactively identifying risks and resolving issues before they impact customers.
• Strengthen operational excellence by maintaining clear documentation, standards, and runbooks, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll bring
• 5–8 years of professional experience administering Oracle databases in enterprise, production environments.
• Hands‑on experience administering Oracle databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Oracle Database on OCI and Oracle Exadata Cloud Service.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database operations, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high‑availability architectures.
• Familiarity with OCI core services as they relate to databases, including compute, storage, networking, and identity and access management.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux systems and database automation or scripting to reduce manual effort and improve reliability. Available on a 24x7x365 basis when needed for production impacting incidents or key customer events
