Reporting to the Production Superintendent, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Process Engineer to join the Oaky Creek Coal CHPP Team.  

The Role:

In this role, your responsibilities will include reducing unit cost per tonne, upskilling CHPP personnel and contributing to daily, weekly, and monthly production plans. You will work closely with production supervisors and team members to achieve cost and production targets. As well as this, the maintenance team will benefit from your expertise to manage plant availability.  You will identify opportunities for improvement and implement process solutions to maximise CHPP throughput and metallurgical recovery.

Working with the production and maintenance departments you will:

• Establish improvement projects and trends.
• Lead and facilitate root cause analysis driving loss elimination.
• Review production delay data to ensure operational departments are focusing on the real issues.
• Manage asset maintenance strategies and software.
• Provide recommendations for the engineering design out of repeat failures.
• Contractor Management of the Hydro Mining team.
• Resource management of recoverable tailings, LOM resource scheduling and LOM reclamation management.
• Review of existing process systems documentation.
• Provide leave coverage for the Logistics Superintendent and/or Production Superintendent

About you:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Chemical, Process or Metallurgical Engineering (mandatory)
• Demonstrated experience in mineral processing, with a strong understanding of the technical and operational aspects of mining
• Enjoy working in a hands‑on environment
• Strong attention to detail in reporting, with excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a Monday to Friday or 9-day fortnight rostered position.
