Swarmia was founded to help software teams continuously improve how they work and build software. Every day, we work closely with some of the best software companies in the world, helping them build happier and more productive software teams. We aim to build the best-designed product in our category, and we have also been praised for our design and user experience (G2 – Easiest to Use, Fall 2026).
It's an opportunity to become an early member of a fast-growing company in an evolving space and influence how thousands of software teams work every day.
5+ years designing and building software, with emphasis on building
You consider yourself cross-functional, combining product expertise and some technical expertise, which you can prove it from your experience
You know when to do a customer interview vs. use product analytics to take a product decision, and when to trust a gut feeling
You put effort into knowing your users really well
You know how to run customer interviews, and do that at scale
You know when to go to Figma, and when to build directly with Claude
You know when to use AI, and when not to use it in your work.
You can read code. Being able to make changes without relying on AI is a plus
Shipping new product changes every day (and sometimes multiple times a day)
Working closely with engineers and your team lead, Mika, prioritizing synchronous collaboration to solve product problems together
Owning the longer-term design vision of your teams’ product area
Owning business context and success metrics for the product area you own, together with your product counterpart
Dumbo is the team behind Swarmia's effort model and the products that help engineering organizations understand how they spend effort and budgets across projects and categories of work. Your core audience is engineering leaders in Director+ roles who use Swarmia through the UI, API, Swarmia AI, and the MCP server.

The New Way: Building software in an agentic organization — why we start every feature with a prototype instead of a plan
We tried Anthropic's way of working, and here's what happened — Campfires: sessions where product, design, and engineers ship the first iteration together
How we do product discovery at Swarmia — written by one of our designers
We're a well-funded company founded in 2019. Our latest funding round was in mid 2025. Our team members are working in different cities in Finland and the US.
We believe in improving software development so much so that we've written a book about it, it's called Build. We also host a podcast called Engineering Unblocked, featuring guests from companies like Stripe, Webflow, and Sentry.
We're moving fast. We ship new features every day, and write about them in our Changelog.
We believe in autonomous teams. Each team owns a product area and all its product context. You'll participate in customer research from day one, learning directly from the best software companies out there.
We work together to solve customer problems — we call it Swarming it — and collaborate cross-functionally to make it happen.
A highly experienced and motivated team
70–80 k€ annual salary plus a meaningful amount of equity
10 extra days of paid vacation when you start, on top of the regular paid annual vacation
Flexible working arrangements — we work in a flexible hybrid setup, and you can choose between working remotely on most days or from our HQ in central 📍 Helsinki
Great work/life balance — we're a startup, but we don't crunch or work at an unsustainable pace (many of us have kids and other activities beyond work)
