Are you our new Senior QA Automation Engineer?
What will you do:
- Define and own QA strategy, test plan and quality processes for the platform
- Analyze product requirements, develop and maintain tests including reusable test scripts
- Validate end-to-end data flows:
- ingestion → transformation → aggregation → reporting
- Test Databricks pipelines, jobs and data transformations
- Design and maintain automated tests (API / data / pipeline-level)
- Refactor or rebuild existing Java+Cucumber framework (or propose alternative)
- Perform infrastructure-level validation (networking, environment setup, pipeline orchestration)
- Collaborate with:
- Data Engineers
- DevOps
- Business stakeholders
- Establish and promote QA best practices in the team
Coordinate testing across teams and vendors where required
What we´re looking for:
- QA experience, ideally in data platforms / data engineering environments
- Strong understanding of data pipeline testing
- Solid SQL skills
- Experience testing:
- Data transformations
- Backend / integrations
- Experience with API testing (REST)
- Experience with test automation frameworks (Java)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail (data validation mindset)
- Ability to work independently and own QA direction in the team
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Nice to have:
- Experience with Databricks
- Understanding of medallion architecture
- Experience with Azure cloud
- Experience testing data lakes / lakehouse platforms
- Experience with BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin)
- Experience with non-functional testing (performance, reliability)
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes / networking setups
- Ability to read and understand Python code
- ISTQB certificate
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is an advantage.
