Senior Security Monitoring and Response Analyst
Overview:
The Security Operations team is looking for a SOC Senior Security Monitoring and Response Analyst to provide quality control of our program and support junior analysts within our cybersecurity defense operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about information security and technology, highly motivated, analytical and a team player. The role requires strong understanding of cutting-edge technology and/or information security principles, analytical thinking, prioritization, and team-first mentality.
Role:
• Is the team lead for our Tier 1 SOC Operation.
• Proactively measures quality from the SOC team’s analysis and reports results through KPIs
• Develop and participates in the SOC’s metrics program for internal and external stakeholders
• Leads process, people, technology, and procedure enhancement initiatives for the SOC.
• Provides coaching, support, and guidance to junior SOC members on cyber processes and procedures.
• Participates and facilitates training exercises for SOC staff.
• Apply root cause analysis and lessons learned to improve security posture and processes.
• Facilitate new environment onboarding into SOC processes.
• Ability to provide monitoring coverage for the SOC Tier 1 team when needed.
All About You:
• Strong working knowledge of security or experience with information technology (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Web Proxy, Antivirus, Security Information and Event Management SIEMs, Endpoint Detection agents, etc.).
• Understanding of TCP/IP, Mitre ATT&CK, Kill Chain, Data Loss Prevention, Malware analysis, and Networking principles.
• Experience with Windows, Unix Based Operating Systems, and Cloud Security fundamentals.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including good communication with the ability to articulate ideas in a precise and concise manner
• Strong Data Analysis skills, with the ability to develop KPIs and metric reporting to management.
• Experiencing creating queries, and alerts in a SIEM system.
• At least one year of direct experience in a Security Operations Center or similar.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
