## **About the role**
Corgi (YC S24) is a full-stack AI-native insurance carrier building better insurance products and software across multiple verticals. We’re not a broker, so we underwrite and issue policies directly, with fewer handoffs and less friction. \
\
We've raised $374M from Kindred, TCV, and others at a [$2.6B valuation](https://www.corgi.insure/press-releases/series-b1). We're hiring a senior software engineer for a new agentic product in real estate. You will be the first technical hire on it. We want someone who has built and operated 0->1 systems to a high standard of reliability and correctness, and who has shipped AI features in regulated industries.
You would be the technical voice in the room for a product we are building and help us define the architecture, the stack, and work with product and design on what to build and ship. You will be shipping constantly.
## **Responsibilities**
* Own the data model for money movement and make it hold up under audit
* Build the agent layer that does real work in the product
* Build the ingestion pipeline that turns third-party documents and exports into structured records our users can trust
* Own the migration path for customers coming off incumbent systems
* Decide what our tests actually guarantee, and close the gap between green and correct
* \* Set the release process: what can ship, what needs a rollback plan, what needs a gate
* \* Help recruit and ramp the engineers who come after you
## **What We're Looking For**
3+ years shipping B2B or B2C products, with at least 3 of those in AI or fintech, insurtech, or health tech. Adjacent experience in accounting, payroll, or HR software accepted.
**Requirements**
* You have 3+ years building production systems at a high-growth startup or technically demanding environment in either fintech, insurtech, healthtech, payments, payroll, accounting, banking, or marketplaces with payouts or where the costs for failure is high
* You've owned services end to end, including the schema design, the API contract, the deployment, the on-call, and the deprecation
* You're comfortable working across the stack. You can ship a React workflow, a Node service, and a Python data pipeline in the same week without asking permission
* You're AI-Native and use modern AI tooling in your workflows
* You think clearly about tradeoffs and have good product sense. You can tell the difference between a problem worth automating and one worth not solving yet
* Strong SQL and relational modeling, and comfort running migrations against live data.
* You are comfortable being the only engineer. You can make a call, explain why, and move fast.
* High agency, high ownership, low drama
**Additional Preferences**
* You have run a migration onto a live system and can talk about what went wrong
* You have built or maintained and reconciled between two systems of records
* You are strongly opinionated about not just what we build, but what we must deprioritize
* You’re an ex-founder
## **Expectations**
* **In person.** This role is on site with the team in one of our offices in SF/Chicago/NYC/London/Dallas.
* **AI-native and velocity.** You’re a power user of AI and you use it to execute with high velocity.
* **High ownership.** You will help decide what matters, defend the call, and ship.
* **Collaborative.** You will work collaboratively with XFNs to help define product requirements, design, and overall strategy.
## **Compensation & Benefits**
* Base salary: $150K - $275K USD
* Health, dental and vision, 401k with matching plan
Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
