Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior-Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and own software solutions end-to-end, while also taking on meaningful responsibility for the reliability, scalability, and operational health of the systems we build. This role is a blend of hands-on software engineering and site reliability engineering, you'll be building features and systems, but you'll also be expected to think about how those systems behave in production, respond when things break, and help harden them against failure. You'll work across the full software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and system design through to testing, deployment, and ongoing operational ownership with the autonomy and experience to lead technical decisions, not just execute on them.

In this role, you will get to:

• Design and write clean, well-structured, and testable code that sets the standard for the team, with a strong eye toward application performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Lead code reviews, setting the bar for code quality and giving thoughtful, constructive feedback that raises the team's overall standard
• Design, build, and evolve services with an eye toward reliability including monitoring, alerting, and incident response, not just feature delivery
• Design, build, or operate microservices and distributed systems, reasoning through service boundaries, data consistency, and failure handling
• Take ownership of infrastructure and deployment strategy for the systems you build including evaluating cloud services, managing cost vs. performance trade-offs, and (ideally) managing infrastructure as code
• Respond to and lead investigation of production incidents, communicate risk and trade-offs clearly to the team and stakeholders under pressure, and drive root-cause fixes rather than short-term workarounds
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical direction, and work closely with engineering stakeholders to shape what gets built
• Architect and develop features and solutions using our tech stack, making informed trade-offs between tools and approaches
• Debug and troubleshoot complex, ambiguous issues
• Drive clear communication across the team, take ownership of project timelines, and help unblock others when priorities shift
• Champion and help evolve the software development life cycle and internal engineering processes
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and judgment

You'll be successful if you have:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Strong development skills with at least 5 years of hands-on experience, including experience owning projects end-to-end
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript and Node.js, with solid, hands-on experience in frameworks such as Next.js, React.js, or Express
• Comfortable scripting and operating in a Linux environment
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and CI/CD tools such as AWS, Google Cloud, Jenkins, or similar, with experience designing or improving CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Firebase, Docker, Nginx, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kubernetes, or Socket, we don't expect mastery of every tool, but solid working experience with several and the ability to pick up others quickly
• Real experience with infrastructure and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar), and exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Exposure to (or strong interest in growing into) SRE practices, monitoring/observability, incident response, on-call processes, and postmortems
• A track record of learning new tools and platforms across software development and data engineering, and a good sense of when to introduce them
• We are not picky about specific technologies, but we do value deep understanding of SDLC principles and sound architectural judgment
• Thai National or currently based in Bangkok
• Strong proficiency in English both speaking and writing
