Work hands-on through the whole sales cycle: tailored demos, enterprise proofs of concept, solution design and implementation planning
Work with Account Executives and channel partners to plan and win competitive deals with new customers
Dig deep into customer architectures and map them to Snowflake's data architecture, including open lakehouse patterns with Apache Iceberg tables
Build retail and telco use cases such as customer 360, demand forecasting, personalisation, churn prediction, and data collaboration through Snowflake Marketplace and secure data sharing
Stay current on competing and complementary technologies and position Snowflake clearly against them
Work with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing to keep improving Snowflake's products and messaging
OUR IDEAL SENIOR SOLUTION ENGINEER WILL HAVE:
10+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally in pre-sales or solution engineering
Proven experience with Retail or Telecommunications organisations, including their data, business drivers and stakeholders
Excellent presentation skills with technical and executive audiences, whether on a whiteboard or in a demo
Ability to build and own senior C-suite relationships
Broad experience with large-scale database and data warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and cloud platforms, including Data Lake, Data Mesh and Data Fabric patterns
Hands-on SQL, SQL analytics and Python skills
Ability to connect a customer's specific business problems to Snowflake's solutions
A university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field, or equivalent experience
BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING:
Experience with global systems integrators (GSIs) such as EY, Deloitte or Accenture
Familiarity with retail data (POS, loyalty, supply chain, ecommerce) or telco data (OSS/BSS, network telemetry, subscriber analytics)
Hands-on experience building generative AI or ML solutions
A Masters in Data Science or Business Administration
WHY JOIN OUR TEAM AT SNOWFLAKE? Our Solution Engineers are customer obsessed, and we believe in the value we add and stay honest about it. We love to learn, are open to giving and receiving feedback, and care about making our customers successful. On the Enterprise Acquisition team, you will help bring Australia's leading retail and telecommunications companies onto the AI Data Cloud.
